Raffaela quotes, "He said any move regarding Famagusta would be "very positive" for the creation of a good climate at the ongoing UN-led talks for a Cyprus settlement.

So would the lifting of claimed embargoes against the TCs in the north be a "very positive" for the creation of a good climate at the ongoing UN-led talks for a Cyprus settlement.

Cant they make a deal on this?

I guess you mix oranges with apples.

Where there any UN resolutions or any other resolutions regarding the so called embargo of the Tcs?
Where there any positive measures offered to Tcs by The CyR?
Finally, are the Tcs embargoed?

Are you Arsenals football manager?

The north feels that it is embargoed, if there was real goodwill they would talk about it. This has been discussed so many times for so long.

Apart from that I believe that Varosha should have been returned long ago, or at least opened up under the UN as a free city.

Well, as I see you do have time to waste talking rubbish but no time for arguments.
I understand...

Rafaella;

In no way am I supportive of the northern administration, but we talk of good will here. In exchange for the liberation of Varosha the RoC could assist direct flights. This is one thing they can talk about if they mean 'good will' when mentioned. It seems the only bargaining power the TCs have at the mo - apart from the withdrawal of the TA.

No Deniz, we can always choose not to be friends. With Friends like these, who needs enemies?

You mean 'hot' chestnut which burns the hand that holds it and the mouth that will eat it. Negotiations are negotiations which ever way you look at it. They have discussed these before but both sides seem to be belligerent.

In the end it will have to be give and take from both sides. Ideally there should be no winners. Can they manage that?

Not while Turkey's army calls the shots in the north, I'm afraid.

There you go. Its got to begin somewhere....one step at a time. The TA will not up sticks and go just like that.
