UEFA Pulls up GC club for Racism

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Who said that the "racist behavior" is related with the Greek flags or the "Cyprus is Greek" banner? UEFA or you? If it is UEFA please show me the UEFA report that says that Greek flag or "Cyprus is Greek" banner are racist!

You have just be missinfomed- case lost in UEFA- Reason- PER ROC Constitution Greek flag is he official flag of Greeks of Cyprus then UEFA shut up - and therefore you must shut up-if you do not know, do not speak.

Under that same constitution, the Turkish flag is also official in Cyprus, though I don't think there would be many of those at that venue somehow...

North Cyprus is full of Turkish flags-nobody in UEFA thought to banish them- always Greeks and Jews are the targets-lets hope Greeks will realize it and finally cooperate with the correct links!!

Against the rules maybe but not racist! And as Epsilon said Greek flag is part of our constitution so probably not even against the rules. APOEL was probably fined for different reasons and some people here are trying to link it with the Greek flag or the "Cyprus is Greek" banner.

The team that was playing against Chelsea is called ΑΠΟΕΛ which means Αθλητικός Ποδοσφαιρικός Όμιλος Ελλήνων Λευκωσίας. Do a translation of the name of the team and then everything becomes clear.

I do not think that APOEL finally fined because of this. UEFA just "katapie th glossa ths" when they discovered what bsht.. they were speaking about.

Sotos and Epi,

Why such aggression? Are you both Apoel supporters?
Also is there meant to be so much Greek as opposed to English?

The comment I posted was from a press release from UEFA.

No doubt you will pick up on the details soon.

A.

UEFA withdrew its charge against the Greek flags in the eastern and western stand.
The only charges APOEL has been bought up against are racist chants against a black woman (uefa employee) by 3 idiots in the northern stand and the throwing of 3 plastic water bottles during the APOEL-Porto match.

The fines were 40,000 Euros for the woman and 7,000 Euros per bottle.

That is all.

Why don't you post a link to the report of UEFA? I am not APOEL supporter. It is my least favorite team in Cyprus. They have a lot of hooligans and many of them are racists and fascists. I am not surprised that UEFA fined them! But I don't believe that UEFA said that the Greek Flag or the "Cyprus is Greek" banner are racist. This is what you said and not UEFA!
