These two countries are the cause of Cyprus's division and the cause that a part of our island is occupied by Turkey.
Your example is not so not so good but so true, that is how immunisation works.
The moral of the story Fred is that if Turkey and Greece are taken out of the equation the Cypriot people would find a way to reunite our island . The problem here is that both from the G/C and T/C prospective many believe that Turkey or Greece is their "motherland" This is the crux of the matter.
Let us presume that the Cypriot people shared the views that Deniz and I share , as well as many many more , ie that we are Cypriots above all else and free to exercise our own faith and its traditions , Christenings , funerals weddings etc , more or less how the UK functions , do you not agree that we could then reach a solution and live peacefully together as one united nation ?
I have to admit that Im perhaps being a little selfish here , you see I have 3 gorgeous grandchildren in Cyprus , as gorgeous and as lovable as
any T/C's grandchildren, I know they are equally loved and treasured just as mine are . Now putting the lives and the future of these innocent little souls in jeopardy because some bloody fanatic wants to waive the Turkish or Greek flag , because some unsophisticated authority decides to erect a huge anti Cypriot emblem on Cyprus's mountains , because the Church continues to preach the mythology of Greece being the motherland , because the T/A has banned the T/C dialect. These adverse unhealthy , unwelcome influences ARE THE CANCER dose that I referred to.
LONG LIVE OUR BELOVED CYPRUS AND LONG MAY IT PROSPER IN PEACE AND UNITY. OUT WITH TURKEY - OUT WITH GREECE !
