DISY calls on Christofias to ask for help

NICOS Anastassiades, President of DISY, called on President Christofias yesterday to request expert help in the negotiations process.

“Maybe the President thinks he does not need additional political and scientific support. Does the President genuinely believe that he will cope with the Turkish diplomatic machine alone?” asked Anastassiades.

Anastassiades was speaking at the 13th National Conference of DISY. “The President should finally come to the realization that his negotiating team requires reinforcement at an essential level, and this should not be considered a reproach against anyone.” he said.

Anastassiades went on to suggest the creation of a negotiating team in cooperation with the Greek government which would enable Athens and Nicosia to adopt a common strategy and also enable common action.

“This is how we achieved the feat of integrating Cyprus into the European Union and this is what we should be doing today.” he said.

No problem.

The thought of re-unification with Greece helped us get rid of the colonialist Brits. One enemy at a time. Our EU-sister and closest ally Greece is working behind the scenes to remove the Turks (who were predicted to swarm in as soon as Cyprus had its independence) ....

Yea great plan, sit back and drink cappucino while waiting for others to save us again, sisters, allies and jolly good friends. When will we understand that we are on our own in this world.

Why don't you march off into the horizon with Afrosiatis (your fellow TC from Strovolos) and leave the EU to wrap up its nice surprise for you this Christmas ...
