Very clear warnings on the Foreign & Commonwealth Office website re the dangers and risks of buying property in the North, and they do mention land/property 'that was subsequently classified as exchange land / property by the Turkish Cypriot "authorities".'
Note the way they have used the quote marks round the word 'authorities'.
