When so-called RoC removes it's illegally established Greek commanded National Guard, Turkey withdraws her troops. Why don't u try advising so-called RoC and it's collaborator Greece to remove illegally established National Guard? Illegal is illegal. By ignoring ur illegalities u can only be a biased parrot keep repeating what ur leadership says... I'd expect more than this from u, RW.

What if there has been 20.000 TC national guard and just a few thousands of Turkish troops? U would ask us to abolish TC national guard? See how illogical and biased u r?

Dear Insan, by comparing National guard with Turkish army is like you ask Turkey to establish a Kurdish army for its security and cancel the army obligation for people of Turkish Ethnicity!!!!

I'm not comparing them, Epsilon... it is clear what I said. The existence of National Guard is as illegal as existence of excessive number of Turkish troops. We might well have established a TC National Guard if we had 20.000 TC troops.. then what would u ask us to withdraw? Our own troops? So what abt GC troops? It's illogical to ask Turkish troops withdraw from Cyprus before a lasting settlement reached.

...then why don't you form a 'National Guard', so that you have your Army to defend your "State"?

If you are a Nationalist and proud of the TRNC this is the only logical thing to do. The Turkish Army can leave, and in this manner you are, as well, serving Turkey's interests instead of remaining a burden to her, as a free and independant self-representing entity.

Repulse why do you want us to get rid of our security? is it to leave us exposed to GC national guard aggression?

...why must you suck off the 'motherland'. if you are a People, defend your State.

the Turkish Army as an occupier should be a concern to a citizen of the north who seeks autonomy and self-representation; this is what i am saying.

U r talking irrelevant... Whose national guard is ur national guard with double headed eagle and a Greek commander?

U well know that we needed to reinforce our TC forces with Turkish forces against ur Greek commanded "national"(read as Hellenic) guard...

There's nothing illegal or Greek about the National Guard of Cyprus...

Treaty of Alliance

IV. It is likewise agreed that the Tripartite Headquarters shall be set up not later than three months after the completion of the tasks of the Mixed Commission for the Cyprus Constitution and shall consist. in the initial period, of a limited number of officers charged with the training of the armed forces of the Republic of Cyprus. The Greek and Turkish contingents mentioned above will arrive in Cyprus on the date of signature of the Treaty of Alliance.

The Cypriot National Guard (Greek Εθνική Φρουρά - Turkish Kıbrıs Ulusal Muhafızları ) , also known as the Greek Cypriot National Guard, is the combined arms military force of the Republic of Cyprus comprising land, air, and naval elements. The CNG consists of active duty, reserve and militia personnel.

Greece maintains the Hellenic Forces Regiment (Greek: Ελληνικές Δυνάμεις Κύπρου, ΕΛΔΥΚ) on the island, but this is not part of the Republic of Cyprus military.

Btw, EPSILON and repulsewarrior, if you can’t answer Insan’s valid questions why do you bother responding at all?

NB: Those direct adobe links don't work again but you can access the treaties from here...
