Since YFred is younger than me, it is only appropriate to call him by his name only, YFred and nothing else.! If he misbehaves however, I could also address him as "Küçük", as it is/was the common practice in Turkey who were not even considered significant to be addressed by their first names or term used by adults toward younger people they did not know personally when dealing with them in the shops and so on..

It's was all a matter of time before YFred started showing respect to his elders. It' was never too late for him to come around, even if I had to beat it out of him relentlessly over the last 6 months or so and the beatings will continue if he should become disrespectful again in the future..!

Now, I wonder when will he start calling me "Abi" or "Pasha".

Boklu Yero, only the Turks put so much emphasis on Abi and Abla. In TC nomenclature it is seen as sign of backwardness. I don't remember last time I heard such phrase in my circle of friends let alone insisting that it should be used.

As to your intelligence only a karacahil can declare how much wiser and smarter they are. There is one thing that's for sure; you are unique in today’s society expecting to live in the 50s during the noughties.
