Oxford dictionary describes Hellenism as Greek Character or Culture.

But what does it really mean to our forumers GC and TC alike.

To me it means the recapturing of all the ancient Greek lands, which according to the Greeks includes Egypt, Cyprus and most of modern day Turkey including Constantinople and Smyrni all the way to Trabizon.

Is this a common belief and if it is how realistic is it? Can it be achieved?

The usual suspects have not replied. They are plenty of GC who believe in the ideology. But they are too ashamed to say so.

As a resident of Australasia, perhaps you can comment on what I find to be an interesting phenomenon. The children of British migrants to Australia or New Zeland always strongly identify to their countries of birth and do not cling on to some sense of Englishness or Britishness. Why do the offspring of Greek migrants find it so hard to let go?
