Ancient Greece and the stolen civilisations

Postby YFred » Mon Nov 23, 2009 9:53 pm

Ancient Greece is the civilisation belonging to the period of Greek history lasting from the Greek Dark Ages ca. 1100 BC and the Dorian invasion, to 146 BC and the Roman conquest of Greece after the Battle of Corinth. It is generally considered to be the seminal culture which provided the foundation of Western civilization and shaped cultures throughout Southwest Asia and North Africa. Greek culture had a powerful influence on the Roman Empire, which carried a version of it to many parts of the Mediterranean region and Europe. The civilization of the ancient Greeks has been immensely influential on language, politics, educational systems, philosophy, science, and the arts, inspiring the Islamic Golden Age and the Western European Renaissance, and again resurgent during various neo-Classical revivals in 18th and 19th century Europe and the Americas.

The question is, as everyone knows that the ancient Greeks were nothing more that barbarian invaders invading other people’s lands and stealing their ideas. So which cultures were robbed? How many people did they kill and how many nations did they destroy to build this little empire then? Wasn’t such an empire destined to suffer the same fate in the hands of those who were better at it then them?
Any contributions would be welcomed.

The ancient Greeks stole democracy from the Turks. And everything Plato wrote was stolen from some wise Mongoloid

I suggest you learn some Ancient Greek (when you've managed English  ) ... and all will become clear!

Alternatively, just carry on making a fool of yourself by parading your ignorance ....

Yeah, that pretty much wraps up Turkey's subsequent role... and it’s good to see you awakening to the likes of Greece & Turkey for once.

Are you suggesting that the Greeks got from the cave to such a culture with no one elses help? Is that your understanding? Did they not steal anything from the Egyptians, Anatolian's and the Persians? So why invade then? Were they just blood thirsty and rapists?
Judging by the activities of Sikandra, I think that the boys and the young men had much more to fear then the women.

This post is in the spirit of good neighborliness YFred.

And how was the Greek armies different when they invaded pretty well the same lands just before?

Did they just kiss the men and patted the women on their backs?
What did the Greek Army do to the Turkish villages as it withdrew from the last invasion of Turkey?

In any case who the hell is William Gladstone, probaply a man I would not be glad to know.
