The best malt whisky?

Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

Glenmorangie - agree, very nice.

Glenfiddich - revolting, for some reason they seemed to have a highly successful marketing campaign 10-15 years ago and I would inevitably receive a bottle at Christmas time. Still, useful to give away to first-footers at New Year.

This is part of the initiation process. 8) I'm afraid you'll have to work it out for yourself. I'd love to help but that would be against the rules........

IMO Jameson's is soulless compared with Scottish whiskies - too clean and clinical for me (it is triple- rather than double-distilled). But each to their own.........

Have to agree with Paphitis - Jamesons is better than any Jock crap.
I personally prefer Spiced Rum

Talisker,

I would recommend Highland Park from Orkney, so salty but not of the scale of a Isla, with a smooth red/gold hue and a slight sweetness.

I drink alcoholic drinks several times in a year time and if i would drink whisky I only drink J&B. I have no idea abt it's spirit category but it's the most common one in TRNC that J&B addicts prefer.

I bet few of you have tried any of the single malt Tasmanian whiskeys. Barley is smoked using pristine peat .Pure Tasmanian water is used which cannot be compared to the polluted water of Europe. Tasmanian Whiskey mainly made by people with scottish ancestry & consistently wins awards, including the whiskey from " other" countries awards in Scotland.

Another spelling mistake - where do these newbies come from!

If this come from 'Scottish' ancestors, then it will be 'whisky'.

Tut-tut-tut.

OOPs I have US spell check :
With few exceptions, the spelling is Scottish, Canadian, and Japanese whisky (plural: whiskies), but Irish and American whiskey (whiskeys).
