Acer 8935G, which i could not source in Cyprus. The HD video chip works but the on board SD video chip does not - so I have to log on to a blank screen - then the ATI chip takes over and everything is normal.

Try updating your motherboard’s chipset first with this…

Intel Chipset Driver

If that doesn’t fix the problem update your video driver with this…

ATI VGA Driver

Just got a call from Cyprus Consumer Organization, they told me as long as i have a receipt, a service card issued ( i have) and all that was within the 2 year after purchase they cannot ask money for repairs. They also asked me to scan everything and send it to them.

NB: A very recent BIOS update on offer (2009/11/17) for your laptop suggests known issues/problems…

Once you unzip this run the following file from your hard disk…
