That's why they sell a "International Travelers Warranty" separately!

One thing I don't like about Cyprus, is the fact that there is absolutely no service to the average consumer, and there is even less protection for the consumer, which is why there are so many money hungry idiots out there, who get away with blue murder.

Lets not generalize here i have NEVER had an unsatisfied customer with my service until now

That's great Kangarooster!

You keep doing the right thing and you will reap the rewards. Word of mouth is so important in business. :)

I certainly won't have any issue with you being my technology supplier.

Some quick notes for dealing with laptop hardware faults as a customer…

You should never take the laptop back to where you bought it from unless it’s an AUTHORISED PARTNER of the brand… better still don’t buy from non-authorized service centers. (In other words, avoid resellers). Resellers DO NOT have authorized technicians to deal with these brands at the board level and neither do they have access to necessary parts & related resources. As a result they have to send it elsewhere to an authorized service center so you’re at the mercy of them sending it out if and when they please thus wasting valuable time!

Find out which is the authorized service center in the country for the brand BEFORE you buy a laptop so that you can go STRAIGHT to them if you have a hardware fault. The receipt is NOT necessary but the serial number at the back of the laptop. Warranty periods are ALWAYS determined by the SERIAL NUMBER not the purchase date!

But anyway, first check your warranty status online and PRINT it out to hand to the authorized service center to save them time and to show them that you KNOW what it’s all about!

The warranty date counts from the date you hand your laptop in for repairs and not when they finish repairing it! Any repair that takes longer than a month is unacceptable. A fast warranty repair is about two weeks because parts ALWAYS come from overseas on order.

Call once a week to enquire about your laptop and ask the technician about the progress of your warranty claim. Has he isolated the faulty part yet? If so, has he lodged his electronic warranty claim yet? If so, when was he told the part would arrive? (Usually 2-3 weeks from the day the tech makes his claim online)

Here’s where to check your warranty status…

My Acer laptop, bought on line from a reseller, requires a Motherboard change; I shall be sending it back next month to Acer - we will see if Acer refuses to replace it, as happened to Raymanoff.
