Engage your brain and just Thinkkkk! Think with clarity and objectivity. :D

And go and visit the US. Great country. You will fall in love with it! :D

And secondly, I did mention US HR violations...

This is what I said in an earlier post:
I say this because they rightfully condemn Saudi Arabia for Sharia Law public beheadings, Iran for pubic lynchings, the US for Camp X Ray, and so on and so on.

But stating that the US is the biggest violator of HR is both irrational and illogical GR! Get a grip of yourself......

Otherwise, it is YOU who needs to go to sleep you small minded fucked in the head twit!

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... JUST SLEEP Paphitis... it's the only thing you're good at.

The government of the Republic has a duty of care in what happens in the Occupied Areas in these human right matters as they concern the tissy community up there, as these abuses of human rights take place within the area of it's sovereignty and its jurisdiction.

To not act whenever it can either by legal action itself or by backing tissy legal action is a "dereliction of its duty" as a Sovereign State.

Please continue with

I will allow you to waste your time to your hearts content. I may then allow your forum into my living room at some point in the future of my choosing, one last time.

Excelent OP. Great Posts. CF at its Best.

Can I just say to those who bring other States in to this that no country is perfect when it comes to this human rights business cos it always has been and always will be about the never-ending Struggle between the power of the state and the power of the individual citizen.

Those of us in the Enlightened West should not feel smug and complacent that we have reached some kind of perfect rights situation and that we should sit back cos the battle is won. Those of us who live in US, Oz or here in GB, and elsewhere in the 'free' West really should look at the situation in our own backyards and see there is a long way to go in this fight and also consider that the State will always try and roll things back. In recent years using the excuse of "terrorism" to limit rights such as a fair trial, detention without charge and in some cases being denied legal representation.

It's a Struggle and always will be. Join the fight our tissy comrades.

We're talking Human Rights and he's talking holidays! :? He then wonders why nobody ever takes his posts seriously…

The amount of lives that have been saved seem to go unnoticed, as well as the country's very humane approach when handling these sensitive issues.

Quite clearly, the Australian public approves of Australia's security measures, which are humane, but never humane enough to allow illegal immigrants/asylum seekers/economic refugees/criminals free access to violate our borders and be awarded with permanent residency when we allow over 250,000 immigrants (many of whom are legitimate refugees) in per year.

AI can say what it likes, but we know longer take them too seriously.

That's interesting - digressing, I know, but 250,000 immigrants/year? How many are rejected? And weren't you telling me a while back that life is pretty tough for many new immigrants - I think you mentioned a medically-quelified immigrant who was now driving a taxi, and thinking of returning 'home'. I know such stories are common, but is Australia getting the most out of it's immigrants, not treating them as second class citizens, and thereby restricting their human rights?

More importantly - did you see the rugby yesterday?

He was an Engineer driving a cab, with many years in the Saudi Oil industry.

Life can be quite tough for immigrants that come from that part of the world due to some recent events in Oz. Many are finding it hard to find decent jobs even though they may be well qualified. This is quite sad.

I think Australia accepts most of its immigrants with very good intentions. However, HR managers within major Australian corporations who interview and hire workers don't always see things the same way, and may even choose to employ a lesser qualified Aussie (whether that be Anglo or continental European). Could almost be deemed racist, but of course this is impossible to prove.

The Government on the other hand does provide excellent support services, and many are employed within the Public Service. So no, the Government does not restrict their human rights. If they wanted to do that, then their entry visas would have been rejected in the first instance.

But yes, due to the attitudes of some Corporations towards workers from the Middle East, Australia may not be realizing its full potential, because many have top notch qualifications and still can't get a job. It is a big waste IMHO.

I can't tell you how many people are rejected, but I have no doubt that many are. 250,000 is all we are comfortable with. We don't have the infrastructure or the water resources to sustain a much bigger population because we are the driest continent.

Brisbane, a city of 2 million nearly ran out of water last year! That is scary.

Thanks, that's interesting and answered one of my questions. But did you see the rugby? :D

Congratulations to you and Scotland for defeating the embattled Wallabies.

I am very happy for Scotland and they deserved to win. I would have taken it personally if we lost to your southern cousins, but Scotland is OK... The Ashes loss however really did hurt...

Hey, all you USA-haters, the USA stands for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Don't equate the Uinted States of America to countries like North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Myanmar, or Zimbabwe...

During my time here, I have witnessed your demise as an accomplished debater and researcher, into an utter and complete moron and masturbator. This is why you are not taken seriously and your status is now been relegated to background noise. Such a very big loss to Cyprus and the national campaign to rid the ourselves of the occupation.

Get back to your normal usual self, before the damage is irreversible. You can start by analyzing world events in an unbiased and balanced way, and give criticism where it is due, instead of resorting to sensationalist and hysterical innuendos which have compromised your position on Cyprus Forum.

Do it for Cyprus, so that we may take you seriously once again.

Do it for your country. Do it for Cyprus.

Cyprus needs YOU!

Image

Its still not too late for your rehabilitation (I for one have not given up on you, and will stand by you in your time of need)....

So pick yourself up soldier, dust yourself off, get your spellchecker/dictionary out, for the pen is mightier than the sword at this time and FORWARD MARCH back to the front and fight the occupation like I know you can!

Image

But before we go to the front shoulder to shoulder, I want you to drop and give me 10, for your utter and hopefully temporary insanity.....

Image

I won't just stand by and watch a good man destroy himself. Stick with me soldier, and you will be saved and will fight another day for Cyprus...

And just maybe, one day, I will give you a medal and a promotion, but your biggest reward is that Paphitis will shield and protect you, and respect you once again....

About 5 minutes.

The post was just stating the bleating obvious, so it did not require much thought.

I hope my efforts at saving you are not wasted!
