we are sitting at the green line... its very busy for 7am here on the fence before i get no signle for my phone on a bus full of mainly older people....its going to be ages..

That explains the early start. I wish I was there too. We would have a lot to discuss and talk about. (non-political).

yes we went all the way to the north iw as suprised that there is more then two turk flags in the mountains another one just one alone with two real flags next to them and as u lead up the the mountain it has something written on a banner in turkish.. was very nice to see the sites and did some shopping form the stools outside the apostolos church which is in ruins now.. but its not destroyed its just not maintained anymore i guess but busses full of people coming

and on the way back a truck load of old ladies complaining that the turks ripped them off haha..

yeah that would of been nice to meet up. for such a small par tof a island it did feel like we where there forever driving and getting lost:D

what i always found funny that even so far in the north of cyprus where its all field and nothign else they still dont forget to put two turkey flags on every other building/house so many of them its unbelievable how much you tcs fill the north with turkey flags.

btw i saw this while in the south iw as wondering what it meant...

Many settlers in Rizokarpaso are from Turkey. Perhaps thats why the Turkish flags. Some TCs will also fly it.

The sign written by an illiterate Turk says 'keep off the grass/dont step on the grass' but it was misspelt. Instead of ÇİMENLERE they wrote ÇİMLERE Unless ofcourse its a new word in the Turkish language.

Did you actually see a lawn there?

U must be that illiterate Turk in this case. Bacuse çim and çimen mean same and both r used very commonly.

It might well be that person who wrote on that sign responding your post. Now don't be an idiot and accept your mistake...

I accept that the settlers have brought in a new word to the TC vocabulary. He is no idiot. He doesnt know any better. It seems like one of those words they like to shorten: like Apart, which was Apart. from Apartment. Lazy so an so's. Tomorrow I will consult my veteran Dict.

Dengiz, I'm a descendant of Ottoman settlers but I know that word since my childhood... U r a TC from older genration of TCs and u have been living abroad for a long time, I'm not accusing u not knowing some Turkish words... I'm also aware of that to some extent, for various reasons u don't like Turkish-Kurdish-Laz-Bulgarian(or mixed ethnic origin) origin settlers who settled down in North after 1974...

I too don't like some of them but not because they settled down in North in the last 35 years...

Dont jump to conclusions. I like all the peoples of Turkey. At this stage I will decline to say why I dont believe that they dont belong in Cyprus.

Yes. I discovered that last night. I never heard of it in Cyprus before. Another import with the setlers.

Don't go around insulting GR reh Gabira. The Yetis have moved down south. Last time I walked near my lands that GCs have stolen from me in Lurucina, I saw some tracks of 2 foot long foot prints coming from Larnaka side. I hope they haven't crossed the green line for our sake.

So YFred, what happened to your explanation that the TCs and the GCs from your village had "swapped" each others land in 1974 on an "gentleman’s agreement" and not stolen by the GCs as you claim above. You have changed your position on this issue more than a $20 whore in the last few months. Can you stick with one story (lie) and not keep changing it as it suits you.!

I said the village had an agreement with the GC and swapped land. I also said the large proportion of the land given belonged to my father
