It rather looks as though the 21st century will be Asia’s century. It won’t happen at once, just as the transition from power being in Europe to power being in America didn’t happen overnight, but it is slowly happening.

So, RoC, please do all you can to stop Turkey joining a decaying Europe, a correct vision in the early part of the 20th Century when Europe appeared to have the power, but is now increasing irrelevant to Turkey’s and TRNC’s needs.

Maybe it will be China's turn but don't confuse the civilized Chinese with the uncivilized Turks. Remember that your Barbarian Mongoloids oppressed the Chinese for quite some time but then they kicked you out of China. ;)

sotos you are a disaster. ignorant on kosovo and now china. what's next?
I wouldn't call this being kicked out of China:

But you don't rule China anymore do you? The Chinese allowed you to live there only as a minority not as rulers. That is why China progressed. Because where Turks rule there is no progress. Take your pseudo state as an example and compare it to the free part of Cyprus which is ruled democratically by civilized people!

We are clearly not kicked out and we are almost as big as Greece in China. Thanks!

"blockage from some countries "

Note the plural, more than one country and obviously Greece and Cyprus are not in this group. Turkey is realising that its friends in the EU are few, very few.

I completely agree with u Observer, let those foolish Christian Democrats together with agressive national fronts block Turkey's EU membership, it greatly help Turkey to intense her relations with giants of Asia and other Turkic states. :D

What giants re vlaka, who are you talking about? Those pisspot countries need the west more so than the west needs them. They have trade because the west buys all their junk, I mean come on, crap from china, taiwan, singapore, malaysia, wow real giants, give me a break.

Turkey is not worthy to be in the EU period, no one wnats her in it, accept it. Cyprus problem or not makes no difference, she just doesn't fit.

However, her future economy depends very much on the EU, just wait and see what happens to the stock markets, investors and economy when she finally gets the boot (and a long time coming too). I will light some fireworks and have burgers on BBQ

Turket - EU, oil and water, doesn't mix.

I'm old enough to remember much the same thing being said about Japan. It would be interesting to know who made your computer/laptop - probably Japan with many of the components made in China or assembled in elsewhere in Asia. Quite possibly your car too ... your TV ... your video camera ... and so on.

Selective Quotations, but you can read the whole thing here.
http://en.rian.ru/business/20091028/156617011.html

"ANKARA, October 28 (RIA Novosti) - Turkey is switching to national currencies in trade with Iran and China, ending dependence on the U.S. dollar and the euro for about 20% of its commodity turnover, local media reported on Wednesday.
Turkey has already switched to settlements in national currencies with Russia amid weakening confidence in the greenback as the world's major reserve currency. The move was initiated by Turkish President Abdullah Gul during his visit to Moscow in February.
According to the paper, Turkey's trade with Russia, Iran and China exceeds $65 billion a year. Russia is Turkey's largest trade partner, with $37.8 billion commodity turnover registered last year.

Britain's Independent newspaper reported in early October that Russian officials had held "secret meetings" with Arab states, China and France on ending the use of the U.S. dollar in international oil trade.
The countries are reportedly seeking to switch from the dollar to a basket of currencies including the euro, Japanese yen, Chinese yuan, gold, and a new unified currency of leading Arab oil producing countries.
The Independent said the meetings have been confirmed by Chinese and Arab banking sources, although Russian officials said they had no knowledge of the talks."

For Turkey to join the EU is so the-day-before-yesterday an idea.
