Mrs. Talat, who was accompanied by a group of businesswomen, attended a 3-day economic forum there, as guest of the Abkhazia Businesswomen’s Association and some state officials. Mrs. Talat was also attending in her role as chairwoman of the Cyprus Turkish Women’s Solidarity Council.
During the opening of the Forum in the city of Titsunda, Abkhazian President Sergei Bagaps welcomed Oya Talat by praising her for her efforts to cooperate with the people of the Abkhazia. He expressed willingness towards establishing economic and political relations with the TRNC.
In her opening speech, Mrs. Talat welcomed the issue of establishing bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries. Throughout the Forum, Oya Talat touched upon the promotion of the TRNC and discussed ways of paving the way for Cyprus Turkish women towards contributing to the TRNC’s business sector.

Looks like another warning signal. It would be interesting to see if Abkhazia recognized TRNC. Given that Russia, Nicaragua, South Ossetia, Transdnistra, and Venezuela recognize Abkhazia, it would make for an interesting scenario...

It would not make one ounce of difference even if it did, because this does not mean that other nations who recognise Abkhazia will automatically recognise the "trnc" due to UN resolution 550.

In fact, if Abkhazia is serious about its nationhood and future admission into the UN, then it would not dare contravene UN resolutions pertaining to Cyprus.

Abkhazia has far too much to lose, particularly since some countries already recognize it with more to follow....

Abkhazia will not get into UN because USA, UK, and France would almost certainly veto the move (and China would probably follow suit). Also, If the President of Abkhazia is giving such positive statments to Ms. Talat, it means - at the very least - that Abkhazia is keeping its options only. In any case, Abkhazia recognizes Transdnistra, which is a non-UN recognized entity, so in a sense, Abkhazia has already crossed that rubicon...

Oy, leave the Abkhazians alone, they are fine people, rather slow on the uptake, but fine never the less.
