Erm, correction. Most meat is eaten during Moslem holidays. Better get your facts sorted. You dont want to upset auntir now.

i know nothing of muslim culture or anything mulsim so i dident know i was just guessing. as i am sure muslim perants dont teach their children christianity.

but the greek holidays easter we fast and some people dont eat meat or oils and certain foods 40 days or so before the easter.. but no one cares if you decide to eat meat during these days but the older ones just wont cook it and cook faji and those types of foods during the days

Avoiding eating meat cleanses the body as we know from recent research. So, the Greek Orthodox Church is spot on to encourage a meat/dairy-free diet as a means of cleansing (before receiving the body of Christ)! :D

If we mustafa discussion, can we please get our facts right. Since when was pork banned during ramazan?

The pig is the most intelegent animal, which is why I refuse to eat it.

During the Muslim fast, nothing passes your lips from dawn till dusk. But when the fast is broken in the evening, anything goes, as much as possible.

I taught my second wife a lot about the christian religion. She had no idea. If one is interested they will always find out. This is the day of the internet. A few transient forumers did try to educate us in the finery of Islam. Even Halil has posted some useful information on Islam too. Take everything with a pinch of salt.

I liked my food too much. After the age of 15 I never fasted. You were not supposed to think of girls; that would break your fast. You do not necessarily get fat with tradiotional Cypriot food. Its the junk food you have to watch.
