He must be getting frustrated that no one's listening to him. Eroglu is now talking in capitals :lol:

He must have sent halil an urgent 'telegram' to counter his last stupid remark. :lol:

2.5% of the TRNC’s total territory is made up British Sovereign Base land. What difference would it make when Britain cedes 0.5% of this land” he said.

Pointing out that issue of territory was a very sensitive subject for the Turkish Side; the Prime Minister expressed the view that land to be ceded from the sovereign bases did not really have any significance for the British government.

Neither Mr Brown (nor Eroglu, seriously) believe there is such a thing as "TRNC" territory. So 2.5% of nothing is just that ... NOTHING!

Have a look what else Eroglu says ............ Than think twice with who u are playing :!: :wink:
Pointing to the fact that the TRNC was a reality and that the existence of the TRNC was President Mehmet Ali Talat’s strongest advantage in the ongoing negotiations, Eroglu warned that giving concessions to the Greek Cypriot Side in an attempt to keep them at the negotiating table would bear disastrous consequences for the Turkish Side.

Underlining the importance of maintaining a strong stance at the talks, the Prime Minister criticized the constant desperation for a settlement expressed by President Mehmet Ali Talat.

“The Greek Cypriot Side should desire and be compelled to reach a solution as much as the Turkish Side” he said adding that it was wrong to perceive the ongoing talks as a last chance.

Everyone must know that the TRNC’s will continue to exist even in the absence of a settlement and should adopt a stance at the talks accordingly” he stressed.

Stating that the government and his party were following the negotiations closely, Eroglu expressed pessimism over progress reached at the talks.

If this is true;

"The Foreign Office said the base areas, which are entirely military, would be able to function as normal within the reduced land area. "

Then why don't they just give it back anyway????

These bargaining chips are falling from the sky, someone is getting very desperate. Roll on Dec then the Turks will be trully buggered.

Nothing will happen on dec. Türkiye will not recognize the south cypriot greek administration. And Eroglu as the new president of KKTC in may will stop the so-called "negotiations".

About time too! Only the rule of (international) law can solve the Cyprus problem.
