This junk link starts with inaccuracies from the very first line!

185,000 vs 45,000

Also, they're not "Greeks" but Greek Cypriots! Two different things.

Did u count the number of refugees in 1974 or it was said to u so? Naive GR believes all the lies that said by the ring leaders of Cyprus tragedy! What a contradiction with his so-called Cypriot philosophy!

REPORT OF THE SECRETARY-GENERAL ON DEVELOPMENTS IN CYPRUS
FOR THE PERIOD 3 TO 15 OCTOBER 1974

10. The general state of the Greek Cypriot refugees in the south continues to
improve slowly. It is estimated that there are now approximately 156,000 of them
in the care of the local authorities; a further 30,000 are displaced but
self-supporting. Some 10,500 live in poor accommodations, 17,000 in the open and 6,100 in tents. Some 17,000 live in schools and must be given alternative
accommodation if the schools are to re-open. Almost 100,000 live in overcrowded conditions. Sixteen tented camps are planned, of which six have been set up and are occupied. The circumstances of many of the refugees will worsen considerably with the onset of winter.

So u don't know that abt 30.000 of GC refugees who were living along side of cease-fire line fled for security reasons but returned to their homes in early 1975.

I couldn't help noticing two words, Estimated and Approximately, are a long way from fact. Presumably the same people prepared these figures that prepared the missing list which included people known to have died and included on the missing list to bump up the numbers.
You don't get it GR, roc has no credit for credibility with the TC community no more.

Trust me when I tell you that the Turkish Cypriots are the stupidest people on the planet right after the Australian aboriginals because the UN gets its information from other UN bodies such as the UNHCR, the International Red Cross, etc.

From the link Insan gives ....

"As of 4 November 2009, 432 applications have been lodged with the Commission and 81 of them have been concluded through friendly settlements and four through formal hearing. The Commission has paid GBP 37,660,600 to the applicants as compensation. Moreover, it has ruled for exchange and compensation in two cases and for restitution and compensation in four cases. In one case it has delivered a decision for restitution after the settlement of Cyprus Issue, and in one case it has ruled for partial restitution "

So of the 85 or so cases with a result, only 4 have ended with restitution.

Never the less Estimated and Approximately is not exact. We just don't know. More to the point is how many are alive today that was unable to enjoy the fruit of their labour, because roc has taken 35 years and is no nearer to a solution. That is the real shame.
