The British Memorial

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Underhanded. Disgraceful. Contemptible.

This is not "remembering the fallen", this is pissing on them.

If the stories about how some of those soldiers died are true, then perhaps pissing on them would be an appropriate gesture...

Are you able to expand on these stories Expat?

Figures.

Just as what I had proved/noticed all along. They have hijacked their dead, and politicised their sacrifice in order to show support to the occupation regime, whereas if they only had 'noble' intentions of remembering their dead and their sacrifice, then they would have approached the RoC Government about building a memorial in the unoccupied sector or within the SBAs.

From what I heard, my father cried for three days and my mother never stopped afterwards. Yes they were very happy about me leaving Cyprus. You stupid cow.
You live in denial all you want, it don't work no more. The world has woken up.

So, it was your parents who chased you out of Cyprus, and didn't accompany you!

Lambron na se gapsi je na se gami guzzalin.

People like you who can laugh at such tragedy, deserved everything you got and everything else you are going to get in the future too.

Your sabotage of Cyprus by capitalising and propagandising your position, is the tragedy!

The conclusion remains the same: if TCs had it so hard with GCs in the 60's/70's; then they would not have gone "2,500" miles to be with GCs elsewhere. They would have gone round the corner to mama Turkey.

So, whether you admit it or not; you were economic migrants and now choose to propagate your hate just so that you can keep your ill-gotten goods in Cyprus!

You are the worst of "humanity" ....

I believe Expat is attempting to be witty. Several of the British soldiers killed were burnt to death during a sweep across the Troodos mountains when they were caught in a forest fire while pursuing Eoka A members.

That was a common tactic of the Brits, I believe ... they also set fire to the Paphos forest near my village, with aerial bombardments, in 1958.

Of course, we also cannot forget what they did to Afxentiou whilst he was wounded. :(

Reh Paphitis, another member of the "friends" of this provocative "memorial" is former GB MP and Tnucland liker Michael Stophon.

I do believe things are getting clearer.

... oh and have just read on Cy Mail that the current Givernor Gineral, Peter Mullet, of the other Occupying Power, has laid a wreath at this memorial on behalf of the GB Colonial Office.

It's a common tactic of some of idots around our village who throw lit cigarettes out of their cars; one set fire to most of the valley and nearly burnt half the houses down a couple of months ago; thank God for the fire fighing helicopters

Are you suggesting the British Army were just careless?

In my mind, there is a wealth of difference between some thoughtless fool (Ex-Pat or Cyp), and the deliberate bombing and setting fire to forests and caves in which are wounded men.

Morality ...
