.... when all you had to do to "escape" from GCs was go ~50 miles towards Turkey!

Something doesn't quite ring true.

You've been standing near those church gambanellis for too long. It has affected your hearing and your eyes as well as your brains.
How many people left between 1963 and 1974 and went to Turkey? Are you as stupid as you pretend or are you just playing dumb.

Very few!

Ergo, TCs did not leave to avoid GCs, or because they were tossed out by GCs ... but merely to capitalise on GB generosity ... otherwise they would have gone first to mother Turkey!

So stop lying that you were chased out. You followed your pockets, you lying scumbag!

See that the preeeseeedent of the friends of this memorial to the enduring remnants of GB Colonialism is our old friend Lard Mackinnis (or somesuch name) of the Let's Support the Fascist State of Tnucland Friends in the GB Upper Yer Bum House.

So, there were no problems between 67 and 74. All the situation with the enclaves was sorted, and the TCs had no reason to leave their home land, it was out of choice and selfishness was it?
And where were you at the time, bony Scotland or somewhere.

My opinion is that it would have been a more magnaminous gesture to open up unfettered access to Waynes Keep and allow the relations of the fallen to visit their loved ones any time they want to.

Probably the most sensible and relevant post in this thread. The Telegraph toffs must have known that a memorial in the north would offend the GCs. Why did they not try and persuade their friends the Turks to allow them access to Waynes Keep. The cemetery already exists, its the most obvious and least offensive place for memorial ceremonies and remembrance services.

Once more Turkey has conned the gullible Brits into believing that they are "the good guys".

That's a pathetic defence of your claim to have been chased off Cyprus by GCs (in 1972  ) .... you do not even possess the dignity to admit you left to line your pockets, but prefer to make same propaganda posts out of your trundling off to greener pastures.

If you left for political reasons, you would have gone to Turkey, since the distance to the UK seems to have overwhelmed you. But, you didn't! So shut up about being chased "2,500" miles, you fool.

How does one know when YFred is lying? ... When he presses the "submit" button!

A notice you avoided the question. Let me explain it to you, Akritas2 was being implemented. Main theme was drive the youth out of Cyprus; the old ones will die sooner or later. Does it ring a bell; of course not you are deaf from all those gambanellas during your creationism lessons on Sunday mornings.

No, no, there was no band and no wagon. I went in an Austin Morris to Yerolako airport and flew in a plane.
From what I heard, my father cried for three days and my mother never stopped afterwards. Yes they were very happy about me leaving Cyprus. You stupid cow.
You live in denial all you want, it don't work no more. The world has woken up.

So, it was your parents who chased you out of Cyprus, and didn't accompany you!
