The British Memorial

Postby Dumblonde » Sun Nov 08, 2009 7:35 pm

Well my post really got you going didn't it. And Get Real, I find your language, use of the F-Word appalling. What the heck is the Moderator doing here? You'll be pleased to know this LADY is going to take herself off this forum because it seems one can't have a decent debate, just a tirade from bitter and twisted people who can't see the mess they are in was self-inflicted.

Pathetic attendance; indicative of the fact that the great number of sensible Brits are ashamed of your behaviour ... you have been bought by the Turks and nothing more!

When the Turk-TCs run out of Greek Orthodox religious symbols to wreck, they will turn to desecrating yours ....

How can we have a decent debate if you eject yourself from the forum before you even start?

Perhaps you ought to expand on how the mess that Britain's geo-strategically located aircraft carrier come Middle East listening post is in, is self inflicted. The exercise may reveal why its unfortunate inhabitants are bitter and twisted towards entirely blameless dumb, blonde people like you.

I think this part of the "Coffeeshop" in today's Sunday Mail made a lot of sense:

WHEN IT comes to being pompous and arrogant there is a class of Brits who are in league of their own. And there is quite a few of these thoroughly obnoxious Brits living in the north, many of them in Greek Cypriot properties, behaving like they own the place. Ironically many of them do not even legally own the houses they live in.

These mean-spirited losers, who came to the north because they could get a stolen home in the sun on the cheap, are today unveiling a monument at the British cemetery in Kyrenia dedicated to British soldiers who died defending colonialism during the EOKA struggle. This is quite clearly a calculated attempt to offend Greek Cypriots by a group of petty-minded and vindictive colonialists who enlisted the help of the Daily Telegraph for fund-raising.

It suffices to say that one of the men behind the plans for the monument is the insufferably pompous, Donald Crawford, who has made it the mission of his life to cause offence to Greek Cypriots. The creepy, cretin Crawford was director of the defunct organisation Eupro – a group defending the right of Brits to steal Greek Cypriot properties in the north – but has now found a new way to provoke.

THE SUPERCILIOUS creep, speaking to this paper last Sunday, came up with the following suggestion: “It would be much more chivalrous if EOKA came and laid a wreath at the monument.”

A man who has exploited the misfortune of others, and moved into a house in the sun on the cheap and against the wishes of the owner, has as much right to give lessons in chivalry as a car thief and a rapist. Of course pompous, arrogant Brits suffering from delusions of moral and intellectual superiority do not see it that way.

This memorial commemorates the British forces who died during the period 1955-59.The cemetery is British.
I am sorry I cannot be at the ceremony tomorrow, but I will be thinking of the families of the men and the civilian women who were murdered- shot in the back.
What really sickens me is the blame game, the lies that are coming out of this in Cyprus. The invective from the Chairman of the EOKA Veterans Association beggars belief; he likens it to England allowing a monument to Germans who died there in WW2. In fact the UK is mature enough to do just that; there is a monument for the Germans in UK. Unfortunately Cyprus is way off the maturity league, being under 50 years independent and having become divided after only 14 years and blaming all outsiders ever since for the CYProb.
The correspondent in today's Cyprus Weekly, Philippos Stylianou, suggests the monument is mainly the initiative of the Brits who settled in "illegal"" properties in the North. Well are you??? I'd be interested to hear about this and why don't you email Fil Ippos and tell him so. [email protected]
You will find his article under features in Cyprus weekly on-line.

Whatever the British politicians' motives, at that time, the men in the forces were serving their country and fighting terrorists (heroes here), so
I would like to say that this monument is solely to honour and respect the sacrifice that the young men made for their country.

The aim is clear... so there's no need to politicise the issue and make a fuss... As a TC I'm thankful to British policemen and soldiers who fought against Enosists and did not allow them to unite my island with Greece. They deserved a memorial monument in TRNC.

Live and let us live; that's what all I wish...

Some of you must've failed in Geography because their homeland is 2,000 miles away NW of Cyprus, not in Cyprus!

But such is the stupidity of British barbaric war criminals whom along with their partners in crime the Americans, are responsible for more death & destruction on the planet than the rest of the world put together!

War criminals you were born and gutless mongrels you will die...

Must 'fess haven't followed this scabby "memorial" business terribly closely, but a little googling and CB's post lead me to say that this affair is even more contemptible than feared....

Scumbag Land Stealers crawling on to the Rememberance hearse and trying to hide their filthy crimes behind a flag and the Dead.

Well there'll be at least one Fighter in the Continuing Campaign to Free CY of the influence of these Toe-Rags, who will be laying a wreath of Kybraikon Katouremma on their bleeding "memorial" on Liberation Day.

Self-inflicted? British and Turks occupy our island because they want to expand their empires and they bring their soldiers here to kill our people and not allow us to be free and then you tell me that our problems are self-inflicted?
