So pleased to learn that you are able to recognize the immense difference between the Israeli and the (dare we say) ordinary Jew ?.
I personally believe that the (ordinary) Jewish people have become much maligned due to the actions of the Israelis who are NOW attempting to establish themselves as a 'Race' (if that be the correct definition) since they can lay claim to being born in Israel.
Whether or not they are entitled, is a moot point BUT, the unfortunate outcome of the occupation of lands which are disputed is that many (ordinary) Jews are only too happy to claim association with Israel.
That such should be the case is not really surprising since, (IMHO) human nature usually decrees that one should strive to identify oneself with those of one's own kind, it may well be that the past history of the Jewish people is a great encouragement for those aforementioned (I do not really like to keep referring to Ordinary, since they actually are extraordinary) folk, possibly they feel justified in doing so precisely because of their past history.
However, I DO think that Linichka is a little misguided in claiming the status of 'Race' for such a diverse and widespread population of Jews.
Surely, the same claim could be made for the 'Muslims' who are equally (if not moreso) diverse and widespread.
