And yes, Tim, there are loads of Greek Cypriots I know who eat molokhiya - but why would anyone buy it in the market when it grows profusely on waste land/open land/ car parks/along the side of the road? Everyone picks it for free!
But the ways people use it (large leaves or just the top shoots) varies....

Good question. I see molohiya for sale in the municipal market in the northern part of Nicosia - so why?
I was quite good mates with the people who ran a restaurant chain in Doha, Qatar which the locals reckoned made good falafel. I never rated it highly myself. Local tastes differ.
No wonder YFronts immigrated to London!
