But when I say on the beach I mean ON THE BEACH not near the beach, I dont want to cross any roads, literally to come outta the complex and be a few yards from the sand.

I currently have a one bed there on the beach but the whole developemnet has been run down, they filled the pool with mud and planted trees (without asking anywone) and the whole place is crumbling.

I've searched on BuySell but the search uptions dont give you the choice to specify on the beach.

Any ideas of where I can look or what I need to pay? Something along Dhekelia Road would be fine.

Sand isn't a good base to build on so I doubt you will find any developer building on the beach........

Really??? well this is my house and it's 26 metres from the sea... which is(granted a pebble beach) but sand from when you enter the water..... (besides sand just gets your house in a mess!!!)...

I'd be very interested to hear how the various building materials perform by the seaside... thanks in advance.

Its in a complex called The Corinthia. Its literally next door to the Golden Bay Hotel and opposite a Restaurant called The Sussex. And its ON the beach, lol. Sorry to keep emphasising but so many developers say their place is on the beach when what they mean is across the road. This needs no road crossing. You exit the apartment and you walk 15 yards across a lawn and then another 20 yards on the sand and your feet are in the Med.

GG, buy in Mackenzy; You'll be exactly opposite the sea with no buildings in front of you at all. Some are directly on the beach, with others you have a narrow road to cross - but then you're straight on the sand and in the sea. Nothing in front of your flat but the sea.... thats much less than 35 metres from the beach :) :) :)

Anyway, are you selling your place in Corinthia? Know the area well.

I'm not selling until I know for sure that I have another place to go to. these ones you mention in Mackenzy. I'm not kee on the idea of having to cross the road but whats to stop another developer building across the road and blocking my view. Where I am now I can let the kids play on the sand and I can watch from the balcony. I've not been to Mackenzy in a while but when I last went the water smelt of aeroplane fuel and the beach had rabbit droppings everywhere.

Hey GR, well surprisingly well considering the distance.. There doesn't seem to be any subsidence, no cracks in the walls or any issues other than the usual damp that you get at the bottom of the walls.. which I refill and paint every year... It's a bungalow and in a block of only 5 houses, I think the size of the whole building and the fact there are no flats above us helps and that I believe the footings protrude the whole building by about 16 m.. Although when the weather is at its worst the waves come up to around 4 metres away from the end of the garden... which is only around 15 metres from the patio doors!!!! Other than that, the only other thing is trying to find plants that are ok with the salt air... :?
