If we have partition (God forbid) will part of the TC sector benefit from any oil discovered? How is that sorted? I somehow do not think Turkey will let go easily. Ofcourse that is providing oil deposits are found.

That’s why we can never have “Turkish” and “Greek” sectors because not only would that be a racist foundation, but it would also give “rights” to other countries to interfere!

But under a single, united, democratic, one-man one-vote EU Republic all citizens benefit from natural resources and outsiders have no say.

TCs and GCs will benefit as much as we and the Scots did from the north sea oil.

Was that a royal 'we'? So the oil companies will get richer and the people will get nothing. Nothing new there then.

I don't know about the royal we, but my uncle Filipo is the king.

Partition would also mean formalizing seperate territorial waters and Exclusive Economic Zones. As the oil is to the south of the island ,that means TRNC would have to forgo it if partition is formally achieved.

I said it before and I'll say it again, if roc manages to take out a single drop of oil out of the med without Turkish cooperation, I shall change my name to Nigoli.

Bottom line though is that partition formalization will end the problem and lay open the door for reconciliation later on.
