No My friend...since Talat is in a crying mode i thought i'll get the violin out to company him..

Joke aside...game over for Talat...Dark forces have pulled his rope with this one.

Turkey's Radikal newspaper has been pushing this story very hard. You don't think that they could be trying to promote a new approach towards Cyprus in Turkey?

Nope...

Talat has been crucified in today's Turkish Cypriot press, that is for sure.

That's nothing compared to what they will do to him next election time.Image

Iceman. may I presume that you support UBP or TKP or are you one of those apolitical right wingers, cause you seem to take pleasure in the fate of our Muhtar. At least he can retire and say I did try. Where’s the previous leaders on both sides did not even try.

Fred.
I am neither UBP or TKP supporter. All my life i voted for CTP thinking they will make a difference if ever they came to power but they have disappointed me.
I promised not to ever vote again..Besides there are so many settler votes in north Cyprus now that even if all the proper TC's decided to go vote for one party they will still loose to Ankara's choice.

I know Talat personally...I used to believe in him big time, but since he got elected and made a few trips to Ankara he has become a different man..he is no longer the man i know..
If you think he is trying to make a peace with anyone you are more naive than i thought.

It’s impossible for someone to accept handouts and push his own agenda so it doesn’t matter who gets elected in the “TRNC” because they will always serve the body that donates to them.

As if things r different in South... Remember how AKEL swithched on and off to Enosis? How fiercly was against EU membership then accepted? Even accepted all the rightists parameters of solution in the last National Council.

@Iceman, even if whole TRNC was pure TC and we didn't cooperate with Ankara; it would still be impossible to reach an agreement that would be satisfactory and embraced by majority of 2 communities. Why? Simple... All GC-Greek duo desire is a Greek-GC ruled Cyprus where TCs will be treated as a muslim minority like in Greece. Would u accept what they desire? Would any TC accept minority status? No. So, what's the point of arguing on other aspects of solution?

Enosis? Its 2009 and Cyprus and Greece are in the European Union...is this really the best example you could open with?
As for joining the EU they were against it for ideological reasons up to the time Cyprus joined....not much point in being against it after that is it?
Now please explain to me what these rightist issues that Christofias has accepted, was it giving your 12% community rotating Presidency or allowing 50,000 settlers the right to stay on this island?

iceman your honesty really shows your integrity. your an absolute gentleman.

I also agree with GR he is probably between a rock and a hard place.

We have always known that Talat wouldn't be able to make a difference. And this may sound pathetic but his handshakes have never been genuine because instead of looking at Mr Christofias he always looks towards the camera, for glory and to fulfil his EGO.

The decisions which were reaffirmed in ur National council was the basic parameters previously determined by rightist governments of GCs. Rotating presidency is a must bcz it is one of the essentials of political equality. It is not something ur government gave TCs.

As for settlers it is mainly the consequence of 35 years lasted isolations besides the incompetency of our governments... furthermore greediness of our right wing capital owners... moreover ineffective opposition of our left wingers...

What would have been the situation in South, had u been under isolations? Wouldn't u let Greeks settle down to South to balance ur population via migration?

As for Enosis issue, I've just given it for an example how inconsistent and untrustworthy is AKEL. AKEL is a political party that when forced by Greek-GC national front changes it's direction towards national interests of Greeks-GCs. In the past many times it ignored it's ideological principles for the sake of the national interests of Greeks and GCs.

A communist president member of the EU sounds ridiculous in the 21st century but true!

These are difficult times for all communist parties...
