Dude seriously so many people are under knowlegde when it comes to buying a fridge, a stove anything thats for a kitchen or house daily usage equipment. They just buy whatever the seller tells them to. Happened with many of my family members, With this kinda problems I am always shouting to people to their research of what they are going to buy.

After years the only problem I have now is all of them calling me up whenever they are going to buy something if its acceptable. :P

Do your homework people the sellers just wanna sell their junk.

It also came to my attention latetly that people buy fridges with the ionizing effect and they send them a normal fridge instead. Take into consideration thats an extra 200 euro feature. So watch out from this assholes

Agreed FD - what you pay is what you get.

The developer will still charge you top dollar for the fridge but give you a crappiest one available to maximise his profits! It happens everywhere.

I personally would not have signed anything which says that I have to buy from a certain retailer.

FFS they sell properties, not a bloody washing machines or fridges!

I had fridge problems last year. Had new F/Fs in 3 apartments - one never did work properly and the guy in the shop where I bought it actually said 'it is because of the hot weather' lol! They did eventually give me a full refund including the delivery charge, so I won't name and shame.

Another kept breaking down and having to be repaired. And this was not a cheap F/F. The answer it seems, as mentioned by someone above, is not to turn them off when not in use. Since leaving them on the lowest setting even when the apartments are empty, there have been no more problems.

OK, some people believe in coincidences and some don't. And some people believe in the power of the Internet, and some don't. Judge for yourselves

2 days after posting my complaint about my treatment concerning the fridge, guess what? Leptos rang me today and offered to replace the fridge with another product :D :D :D
I checked the new fridge on the web (and it's price from other stores in Paphos), and said yes thank you very much.

So it just goes to prove that if you keep trying you can get fair treatment, even if it does take 4 months. And I get to retain a good, if slightly tarnished, relationship with the company I bought the apartment from. :) :) :)

Except of course for the w***er who tried to tell me that the fridge would be fine if I (nearly) didn't use it...but hell, there's always one around.

And I get to use all the funny little smilies in my message...

Here's a picture from my apartment (not showing the infamous fridge)

Product RMA is ALWAYS a fine matter, myself working with electronics (computers and mobiles mostly) for nearly a decade now people should be VERY aware, what they buy, where they buy it from, read the fine prints everywhere and make sure they ALWAYS have their receipts and warranties. If your contract said that if something gets broken down you will get it replaced then you can go to your lawyer if they didn't get a replacement. I don't know the exact case so well so i cannot really comment on this too much. But always be wary of "mistakes". I used the quotes because people tend to get frustrated too easily about things they, themselves, as consumers should be aware.

Me myself had many cases like yours where the customer "dug his one hole" as locals would say but still people would not understand, they just go by the motto "HEY I BOUGHT IT FROM YOU I DON'T CARE I WANT A NEW ONE".
