Set your alarm in case you do sleep soundly. Especially as you have spent half the night awake!! - Let us know what happened.

The doctors not being open on Saturday and Sunday I haven't seen one yet. I've been given "Nurophen plus" from the chemist but it doesn't seem to have a big effect, I'm also applying a cream called sm33 it has helped a bit. I've washed my mouth with salt water and listerine, brushing my teeth make the pain even worse. I haven't slept properly in two days and to top it all up I've got an exam tomorrow. What can I do until tomorrow, if I can't sleep tonight I'll probably have to take a make up. Even opening my mouth to talk makes it hurt more.

You need to see a dentist ASAP. You probably require root canal treatment or alternatively you might have a dentoalveolar abscess. I don't mean to alarm you, but the bacteria (usually oral anaerobes such as Fusobacteria, Prevotellae or Porphyromonas, but also facultative oral streptococci) associated with these conditions can, on rare occasions, spread into the bloodstream thereby accessing vital organs such as the brain where a secondary abscess can occur, occasionally leading to death. Good luck and sleep well!

Clove oil with painkillers is your only hope...

Make sure you go to the dentist tomorrow or it'll only get worse....

Hi T_C

What happened with your abscess?

He gave it to Umit... 8)

Maybe they've been following Deniz's advice and kissing to exchange saliva in preparation for having a baby! :D

I beg your pardon!!!

I was seeking your comments on the article and young Talisker stepped in.

My advice would be to have a swill of Raki every 20 min together with Acetaminophen - but was beaten to it.

Reh Umit,

Sorry to hear of this, but as others have said Oil of Cloves. Dab it on to pain area. Any chemist will have it mate, then dentist when they open.

It's morning now, just called the Dental Hospital and booked an emergency appointment for 1.30 today. I won't be able to go to today's exam since I'll be at the hospital.I just hope I get it fixed today.

Thanks also to GR, for the lemon tip. It really numbed my gum for a while. I had a good two hours sleep with the lemon in my mouth.
