How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

I think he was trying to write "polarize".

Actually it was more likely an attempt to write "pulverise" (or "pulverize", depending on how de-kiwi-ified you are, assuming you are from NZ, and actually left).

I would've expected an author such as yourself to be able to you know...read for context?

James, sometimes, local customs mean different words and meanings. I gound this out here in the US immediately after leaving NZ.

Please explain to us the source of your confusion with specific reference to words about whose meanings you believe have multiple meanings.

Okay, I'll use the 'polarize' vs 'pulverize' example. Polarizing can mean - and it usually is accepted as - pursuading a group to one single point of view. Now, even though 'pulverizing' can mean 'to demolish and destroy something physical', it can also be taken to mean 'to demolish a stance or viewpoint', so in this latter variant, the two words are fairly synonomous. That was my interpretation.

This is not even remotely true, even for an "author" of fiction.

The stupidity of Spartan wannabes reigns supreme!

To pulverize means to turn to dust, and YES it’s often used metaphorically to mean “destroy”. Now for Christ’s sake just move on!

So are you saying it was Butlins for TCs between 1963 to 1974?

That single decade was the only time we fought back and it was a two way conflict. Because for the rest 400 years it is a one way massacres and oppression from the invading Turks against the Cypriot people. You keep invading our island, killing Cypriots, stealing our lands and bring Turkish settlers on our island trying to expand against us. And then you call the Turkish Settlers as "Cypriots" and you want to blame us because we resisted to your expansionism? If it wasn't for the Turkish aggression and expansionism there would be no Turkish invasions, no Turkish Settlers, and no problems for Cyprus. Cyprus would be a modern democratic European island without any thieving barbarians who came from Central Asia and whose culture is not compatible with the European principles. And then you wonder why Turkey will never be accepted in EU  You came and fucked up our island without asking our permission but the rest of Europeans would be stupid to give to you the permission to fuck up their countries as well!

Hi

Give me one good reason why I should not vote against ANY type of solution. I already have all that I need here and I worked hard to make my family and kids comfortable. A solution will offer me nothing more (and I dont need anything else) so why bother. I say leave things as they.

How about a free (shoddy-built) villa by the seaside in Kyrenia? It did the trick for a couple of people I know...
