37 poor souls murdered by a car-bomb.

"... At least 37 people have been killed and 66 others injured by a bomb blast outside a police academy in Yemen's capital, Sanaa, police say.

Two men were seen getting out of a minibus and walking away shortly before it exploded beside dozens of people queuing to enrol at the academy.

Afterwards, body parts and debris from the bus were strewn across the street.

There has so far been no claim of responsibility, but an offshoot of al-Qaeda has carried out similar attacks. ..."

Hang on a second. Yemen wasn't invaded by the west.
I know muslims hate each other but how is this a consequence of American emperialism?

I hope the remaining EU members learn from this and start applying the law.

You’d think that a professional publisher would know their country’s law on racism and abide by it but alas… their ignorance proved to be their own undoing!

United States free speech exceptions

Hate speech laws in France:

“The Law on the Freedom of the Press of 29 July 1881 guarantees freedom of the press, subject to several prohibitions. Article 24 prohibits anyone from publicly inciting another to discriminate against, or to hate or to harm, a person or a group for belonging or not belonging, in fact or in fancy, to an ethnicity, a nation, a race, a religion, a sex, or a sexual orientation, or for having a handicap. The penalty for violating this prohibition is up to a year of imprisonment and a fine of up to €45,000, or either one of those, as well as the suspension of some civil rights in some cases.

Articles 32 and 33 prohibit anyone from publicly defaming or insulting a person or group for belonging or not belonging, in fact or in fancy, to an ethnicity, a nation, a race, a religion, a sex, or a sexual orientation, or for having a handicap. The penalty for defamation is up to a year of imprisonment and a fine of up to €45,000, or either one of those punishments. The penalty for insult is up to six months of imprisonment and a fine of up to €22,500, or either one of those punishments.”

Let us remember that France was home to Voltaire, who contributed so greatly to the development of humanity with his works (most famously 'Candide') satirising religion and thus contributing to the process known as the Enlightenment in which human reason triumphed over empty religious dogma. Look at the results. From aids to locomotion such as the steam, internal combustion and jet engines enabling such forms of transport as trains, cars and planes, to computers and IT, all were invented and developed in places where the Enlightenment took root. And all of humanity has benefited from them. The fact that atheists do not want to kill those that believe in religion but simply wish to have the freedom to expose it for the lie that it is, while religious fanantics refuse to engage in any debate and wish to kill those who disagree with them surely shows that, at a subconscious level, the latter know that they are wrong.

Exactly Tim!!

GR's insistence on following a French law reminds me of the secluded village in candide , where ignorance is blissful.. Gr thinks by keeping people muted will create a happy village

Actually, you can find pretty hateful things written and said about atheists by devotees of the God delusion. I just laugh when I hear these things and feel pity for such people who are mentally stuck in a primitive era. I do not feel any urge as an atheist to kill those who make such remarks. That is because I have the courage of my convictions.
Criticising/mocking religion is not racism.

At a time when the West has spread death & destruction to about a dozen Arab/Muslim countries causing countless deaths, maimed, refugees, and orphans, one must be very cruel and utterly stupid to further exacerbate the situation with offensive publishing so let us not confuse Free Speech with Hate Speech!

As for your theist/atheist rants… don’t worry too much Tim because an atheist is just an evolving theist… you’ll get there eventually.

I don't need to... French law clearly does if you read what I quoted.

Despite all the “enlightenment”, Man still doesn’t seem to get it and behaves exactly the same as he did 5,000 or 10,000 years ago.

You see, Man cannot keep his dirty little hands off other people’s property, territory, family, and values for he is an incorrigible desecrator of all things pure!

So it doesn’t matter how many stupid computers Man owns or how many TVs he acquires… Man is still an evil mortal idiot just as the Bible explained some 2000 years ago, because he has inherited sin and needs salvation.

Every day we read about Man’s evil confirming the Bible’s teachings.
