I guess that except for the teenagers everyone in cyprus behaves well.
And I do not seem to mind those teenagers because they are kids......
Other than that I like everything about this place the people and the beaches too

We obviously do not all agree with each other, what a boring world if we did. My god if everyone thought like me what a boring, nauseating world it would be.
Ex-pat, please don’t think I am drawing conclusions as I am not but you have made your case clear and your views even clearer. I will respect those views although perhaps not agree with them. I am perhaps biased as I am Cypriot but first and foremost I like to think I am fair.
As I said I do not want to draw conclusions but over the years I have had men come to my cabin or office wherever we happen to be, with, If I may say, a similar attitude for whatever valid reason and in private pour their heart out to me. These men were all posted to places they didn’t want to be to do something they were either afraid of doing or didn’t want to do. Some had wives who had run off with someone else, others had a bereavement in the family they couldn’t attend, others had children who had got into trouble & felt they should be there, others had girlfriends who had
rejected them, others had new born babies they had not seen, the list is endless however the common denominator was that each of them adopted amongst other things a very negative and jaundiced view of the local people, sometimes with a hint of a reason sometimes not. The similarities are, to put it bluntly, spooky, although I might be so very wrong. If you are currently serving in the forces you will know who you can go to talk to, have a word it may help. I will confess if it helps that the longer the tour of duty the more I used to dread the mail coming out. If you are not serving then apologies but my intentions were honourable and I do not wish to pry or preach but no matter what the provocation I would choose words carefully, life is too short & I guess that goes for all of us.

Liza wrote:Hi dms007 I've just gone through this thread and thought I'd try to give you an answer.
Don't try to pick up a girl in the street - 95% of the time this won't work.
Unless you regularly pass the same girl at the same place and time everyday as she's going to work or something, (that's different).
Men all over the world have the same questions about approaching women, no-one wants egg on their face. I don't think GC girls are any different to other women, we all like more or less the same things in a man. I personally would advise you to go looking for a girl in a bar or club after a few drinks you'll be a bit more relaxed and less self conscious, I think its easier then to approach someone (But don't have too many drinks cause that's a right turn off!!)
Keep eye contact and try to be cool and confident (but not cocky) there's a fine line.
Anyway don't let her think that you'll fall at her feet, being too nice is not the best way to go and not too many compliments just let her know you're interested. Ask her for her number not vice versa if she doesn't give it to you then you know she's not available/interested. If she does then more than likely your onto a winner.
Good Luck!!
