Trade unions have held a warning strike to protest the draft legislation concerning the rearrangement of public workers’ salaries, wages and other payments being urgently discussed by the Parliament’s Committee on Administrative and Social Affairs.

The Unions – calling for the withdrawal of the bill - also held an action in front of the Parliament to protest the government.

27 trade unions held a warning strike today calling for the withdrawal of the bill concerning the rearrangement of public workers’ salaries and wages.

The unions also held a protest action in front of the parliament.

Yesterday, the Council of Ministers postponed the strikes to be held at Ercan Airport for 60 days at an extraordinary meeting.

Commenting on the strike, Prime Minister Dervis Eroglu said that the reason behind the industrial action was not realistic.

Reminding that the bill was sent to the Parliament by the previous government led by the Republican Turkish Party, the Premier said he stood behind the promises he made to the unions before the parliamentary elections.

The Minister of Finance Ersin Tatar has assured that the bill will not weaken the rights of temporary and permanent staff currently working in the public sector.

`The new bill is just for those who will start to work, so there is no injustice`,

The are mere slaves, since they have had a slave mentality for nearly 500 years. They were slaves to the Ottoman Sultan, then the British colonialists, the TMT, and now they are slaves to the Turkish Army.

They know no better! Some will be laughing all the way to the bank with their stolen plunder of GC property and on the back of the TC slave labor. Isn't that what takes you from Sloane Square to Victoria?

No, that is Circle Line I think. Well done for remembering the colour as yellow as Bafidobullos:lol:

Here is one for the anoraks:

http://www.economicexpert.com/a/Circle:Line.htm

The Circle Line of the London Underground became known as such in 1949. The Circle line was not built as a separate line, but was instead created by joining parts of the District and Metropolitan lines as a service. Only two small sections of track are unique to the Circle Line - a tiny connecting section between Aldgate and Tower Hill stations (which is so small that trains turning off onto the District Line can see the platforms at Aldgate and vice-versa) and another connection between Gloucester Road and High Street Kensington.
Pre-1949 this route was known as the Inner Circle, […]

Remember that I have not been in the UK for a year or two.

I have the misfortune to have to go to London in December! I hope my stay will be short, as I transit through to Scotland for a few days. :D

Remember that the District line has branches heading off just about everywhere - there are even reputed to be a few trains to Louroujina on weekdays.

Yep, its called Lurucina-Upon-Thames. But he will not be allowed there, on account of his past criminal behaviour.

How there's no injustice? Why should only the new employees pay the price of economic measures? To the contrary the ones who have extra-ordinary salaries which they obtained through partisan threats should pay the price of economic measures.

Insan, once you sign a contract it is not easy to break it without the other side's consent. But it is very easy to apply it to new employees. It is a standard practice in every EU country and as TRNC is soon going to be part of EU, they may as well start as they mean to continue.

It's against one of the basic principles of TRNC constitution which is equality of individuals. Either this law should be applied to all citizens/residents of TRNC or shot back to TRNC parliament(place of the imbeciles) for further discussion to make it lawful and fair. They have no right to discriminate between the permenant stuff and temporary stuff/new beginners. Otherwise I'll keep "bombing" them with my very unique and special methods.
