Satellite TV

Postby thorogoodj » Mon Oct 26, 2009 5:02 pm

Thinking about having satellite TV installed in our appartment in Anafotia just outside Larnaka. Can anyone recommend any companies. We will be infrequent visitors for the next couple of years so don't want to be committed to monthly payments like Sky. Any suggestion would be welcome

Get broadband and stream off the internet. There are plenty of sites you could use. Connect a laptop upto your tele and bobs you uncle! 8) Much cheaper option

internet not cheaper. In anafotia only provider is CYTA, therefore if first time telephone line installation EURO 200, plus approx Euro 90 per month after that.

Nooooh.

Like the network in Paphos (Holitec). They don't charge anything like that.

I also believe there is a network in Pissouri which I run by Markos

Hi thorogoodj. Your best bet is to go to any satellite company and ask for a dish pointing to Nilesat. You will get several English speaking channels (movies, series, dramas, kids, sports etc) without monthly subscription.

Thanks folks, some useful guidance but Cyta can take a running jump. I'd heard that you can get satellite TV reception for a one off fee so I'll e mail a couple of Satellite copanies to get some quotes.

Nilesat sounds promising, cheers Hazza

thorogoodj, give these guys a call. They know their stuff and are very good at what they do.

Speak to either Nick or Tolly. 70007444

Sounds like the dreaded "pushto-englezo" tax to me!!

Cablenet tried it out on me last week by asking for a deposit of €140 before they would sign me up! When I switched from English to Greek it went down to €40!
