A late good morning all! I've had some very good news today yay!

I've posted this before but will post it again to amuse Palio!

When I lived in Limassol, off Makarios, very close to the AEL football supporters club, the area was actually Neapolis (or some called it Kaneka) but if anyone asked me where in Limassol I lived, I used to say I think it's called Fuck Appollon because that is what is written up on every street corner and building!

Those were the days ... NOT!

One day I was driving home about lunchtime and the road was blocked by the AEL supporters (they'd have these big steel drums in the middle of the road and all leaping up and down chanting and throwing cans of lager around (if you were lucky they'd offer you one as you waited in the traffic queue!)

Anyway, when I eventually managed to find a way home, I saw my Cypriot neighbour and said 'I assume they won their game today then?' he replied:

'The kick off isn't for another 3 hours' lol!

He translated one of their chanting songs to me it was roughly:

'You might beat us on the pitch but we will beat you off the pitch'.

He said that was about right for them as they hardly ever won a game but were known for beating up the other team supporters afterwards.

Are you unhappy with your studies in Cyprus? You have at least three Uni's (I think). Whats more important are there any jobs for the graduates in Cyprus. I understand that jobs are hard to come by and that Antena employ many foreigners. Difficult.

I dunno Palio! You students are never happy! My daughter is at Uni in London and she wishes she'd done it in New Zealand!

Used to meet up occasionally with a nice crowd of Uni Students from Nicosia at a cafe called Mimis in Platres. Great bunch, they used to bring their own music on a saturday night and the owner made sure they all had a good time. His daughter used to put on a belly dancing show for them! They taught my lovely Polish daughter in law how to do Greek dancing!

Bit busy right now but when I have time I will try find you a photo of Mimi's student daughter belly dancing with a walking cane. She is a real Cypriot STUNNER!

My daughter travelled for 2 yrs before starting at Uni. She fell in love with NZ (that's how her year out turned into two years out!) and thought mama might like to send her about 20K to stay on and go to Uni there lol! I wouldn't be at all surprised if she returns there for good one day though. She graduates next summer.
