Good morning!

I need to go get new cables for my Dazzle recording equipment because it didn't specify what size connectors you need. I'm really bored because I've watched all the stuff I've recorded and I want to be in Cyprus

I thought you were in Cyprus!

I wonder just how few who post here regularly do actually live permanently in Cyprus.

I was going to say it's more of an ex pat forum. But the ex pat forums for Cyprus consist of mainly people who DO live in Cyprus but come from elsewhere!

It's a Diaspora Forum.

I must say it does make me laugh when some of those who object the most to me and others like me (who live here all the time) having anything to say about Cyprus are Cypriots who chose to leave Cyprus.

Taken to its extreme, that is quite funny. They choose to go but seem to resent anyone else wanting to be here!

We are somehow seen as despoiling the land they left. Maybe what they would like to see is an empty Cyprus.

Not exactly correct Gasman; There are GCs and TCs of my generation who HAD to leave after the troubles began in 1963. Then a great number of GCs who fled Cyprus - after living as refugees in Cyprus- living in the UK Australia and many other places after 1974 with a lesser number of TCs too. It was not their choice.

Every week I buy the Greek Cyp daily 'the Paroikiki newspaper and the obituary pages are 85% from villages from the north of the island.

This morning reading the paper online I thought of a joke.
Instead it seems to be true.
A curious hobby ..

I appreciate that. But I wasn't here before 1963 and I am here now.

I suppose a lot of GCs (who were living in the North then) would say they do not want to return if they cannot 'go home'. But I know there are also a lot who just don't want to come back and live in Cyprus, having settled and done well for themselves elsewhere.

And seems to be quite a lot who have left and lived in other countries for most of their lives and just intend to come back to Cyprus when they 'retire'.

Or, in the case of the people I met here this week - after they die - to be buried here!

I know it is no longer 'morning' but ...

I've finished all the work that had to be done quickly. I am now going to get ready and go collect my understudy from the airport and then ...

Party time!

Yay!

:D
