i talk to this guy on irc he has his name like khalil whats the difference when it has the K at the beginning?
'K' + 'H' is a separate Arabic letter. Since Turkey and TCs rid themselves of the Arabic alphabet we only use the nearest equivalent which is 'H'.
In Arabic they have 4 or five letters which approximate the letter 'H', so you can understand the need to modernise the alphabet.
Khali is very 'guttural' like when 'clearing your throat'.
Halil is softer and when you say Halil, you do not shower the person you are talking to with spittle.
Perhaps like Charalambos or Haralambos. Is there a difference in pronounciation?
Good morning btw.
It promises to be a warm sunny day today.
Emma, tomorrow is Friday. Something to look forward to and a chance to keep the promises to yourself. Enjoy......but not too much.
thanks for explaining it to me.
