Generation Y apathy- perfect for Reunification

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Generation Y apathy- perfect for Reunification

Postby Agios Amvrosios » Tue Jul 12, 2005 12:38 am

Generation Y's have all the attributes which are perfect for reunification.- Post modernist live and let live philosophy- fuzzy wuzzy morals opinions- Complete and total apathy /lack of interest in everything around them including politics unless it can be played on X Box -live.

So if it is no mess no fuss, set and forget reunification that you want ,Generation Y are the Go.

Part of the Generation Youth among the GCs, don't give a shit for the Cyprus proble, think everything is fine, don't have any aspirations and don't want any change. Another part is prejudiced against the other community. However at some stage when the Cyprob starts affecting their lives they start changing their attitutes too. This usually happens at the age of 25 when they have to struggle to earn their own lives. At that point they realise how limited the potential of a divided Cyprus is. And what they would become if they had some land belonging to their parents or grandparents. As for those who are not refugees they think how much easier life would be if there were not so many refugees around, competing with them on everything...

Genreration Y is people born after 1976- I have also read in other sources that generation Y is people born after 1981.

Main souce :I think many people who did not have a strong view about the occupation develop passion when they do national service especially if you are put on the Green line if your dad doesn't have any important koumbaroi.
