Which makes perfect sense because the Slavs had overrun Greece ages ago…

Why don't the people of Greece talk a Slavic language then like the people of FYROM?

Greeks DO speak some kind of Slavic dialect because I can't understand a word of what they're saying!

When “Greek” (read Cypriot) was invented as a language in Cyprus it made perfect sense to the locals (obviously) but Greeks have since come up with their own Slavic variation that no longer makes sense to us.

That is one of the most ignorant things I have ever read on this Forum, and believe me, that takes some doing!

GR can't understand it so it must be Slavic. Everybody take note, this is a rare insight into the workings of GR's mind. I'm beginning to comprehend why you believe Greeks are Slavs.

If it looks like a Slav, walks like a Slav, and quacks like a Slav… can’t possibly be Cypriot eh?

FYRoMite Slavs have a box head. You have a box head and quack like them too...can it possibly be you're from Skopje?

I like to call them fig heads... but anyway, had Greece never been overrun by Slavs to inject some testosterone into their race, think of all these wonderful ancient Greek traits that would still be going on today on a mass scale…

THE CYPRIOT KOINE: A RECENT DEVELOPMENT?

“7. Conclusion

Historical and structural evidence places the formation of the Cypriot koine in the late 14thc. during the Lusignan period. Geographical and political isolation, weak network ties as a result of urbanisation and successive immigrations, the formation of a common identity between higher strata, as well as low norm enforcement and a rich linguistic input provided over a short time-span support this proposal. This koine was inherited by the urban middle-class across the
island, and underwent, in the early 20thc., a second stage of koineisation with SMG.”

Why don't you say what SMG stands for GR! ?... It's Standard Modern Greek ...

You seem to have found yourself a "treasure-trove" of poorly drafted thesis material of highly questionable accuracy (suits you down to the ground!).

I gave up reading when I got to this bit:

Byzantine administration came to an end
in 1911, with the establishment of the Lusignan dynasty.
