Proposal for future South Asian Union (SAU)

1. The mass people of this region want to abolish visa system for them selves in order to enjoy traveling facility freely and free trade among the regional countries like EU states. We can include Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Turkey, Cyprus, Iran, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei, China, Mongolia, North Korea, South Korea, Japan & Philippine. The Afghan president his Excellency Mr. Hamid Karzai and his Government allready joined into SAARC.

2. If we can include thirty seven more countries (Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Turkey, Cyprus, Iran, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei, China, Mongolia, North Korea, South Korea, Japan & Philippine) with the seven countries of SAARC (Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Maldives) , then this organization or union will be one of the strongest unions. Then we can establish a powerful single currency like EURO as, for example SACU (South Asian Currency), dollar, or any other selected by the forum. And currency value can be fixed by averaging the currency values of the nations concerned.

3. All states will keep there own national flags as state flag and one common union flag, like that of EU.

4. We can establish joint military command council for the defense of the whole region like EU. That means we can unite in a union to ensure human life security along with a strong economy like European Union.

I do not know when the people of this region of South Asia will start to feel love and affection for each other, and will be united. But we should try to establish a golden future for ourselves. If successful, then generation after generation of this region will remember you for your kindness. God bless us with eternal & external peace.

Asian Union Plans Attract Japan

The plans for creating an Asian economic community grouping China, ASEAN and Japan have received an important boost recently. During his informal meeting in New York with Chinese president Hu Jintao, the new Japanese premier Mr. Hatoyama has proposed the creation of an East-Asian community which would emulate the model of the European Union. Closer ties between Japan and China should eventually create the nucleus towards which the other East-Asian nations would gravitate economically :

“Whilst recognizing our differences, Japan and China should surpass them and build a relationship based on trust. This would be the basis of the East-Asian community that I would like to create”. (Yukio Hatoyama, quoted by Asahi Shimbun and Courrier International)

The Japanese prime minister’s overtures have been positively received by the Chinese leader, himself in favour of closer economic and political ties with Japan.

Slight correction Tim.

You have no chance of a union with these countries, you are dreaming.

And in anycase Cyprus already belongs somewhere, this is for those piss-pot countries who fit no where.

Au revoir Idiots!

I can foresee it already ...

China and Japan applying the same criteria as the EU and offering Turkey "special" custom union rather than full blown membership to this AU.

Turkey would be wise to accept the downgraded customs union with the the EU as an initial stepping stone to full membership to the EU.

Note that from this happy group of countries that are candidates for union Israel, Turkey's foremost ally in the area, is missing. What's wrong? You do not fancy them anymore?

The EU obviously has problems with Turkish accession for a very simple reason- by sheer population size Turkey will have more representation at every level of the EU- Commission, Parliament, etc than any other nation. In effect the new and impoverished member will dictate funding. Obviously such a deal will not go down with the rich EU countries that foot the bill. It is a natural reaction. Just think of it in terms of owning a house and inviting a poor neighbor to become the landlord and tell you how much rent you are going to pay.

The site belongs to a Bangladeshi who probably hasn’t read the news for like five years! I asked him:

“What’s a predominantly Christian-Caucasian EU member like Cyprus, doing in your list?"

I wonder if I’ll ever get a reply…
