I think Turkey should accept this downgrade as an example to GCs to accept the downgrade on offer to them in the guise of "political equality".

I think Turkey should tell the EU to fuck off and look east towards Asia...then where would the GC leverage be, they would be left whoring themselves out to the EU with no solution feed back.

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, theres only one whore here and that is you VP (Vile person)

I would just love to see the EU say bye bye Turkey.

Than what will you have, hmm? Oh yes and you can give back all the those passports and ID that you want to keep taking benefits for.

Cheers and see you in the spring. Bloody slag.

Who gives a shit about EU! Euro, USD, Stg - all on board a sinking ship. The economy of EU and USA will continually decline while those of South America, and Asia will race forward step by step every year. FucK EU - look out for a new Turkic economic and political power slowly rising on the horizon. A lot of good EU and its courts will do for Cyprus solution then...

As for what is below - A quote from Nasreddin Hoca
"Bilenler bilmeyenlere anlatsin!"

Türk Dili Konuşan Ülkeler Devlet Başkanları Zirvesi sona erdi.
Zirvede, katılımcı devletler arasında işbirliğinin kurumsallaşmasını öngören Türk Dili Konuşan Ülkeler İşbirliği Konseyi kurulmasına dair Nahçıvan Anlaşması imzalandı.

Azerbaycan Cumhurbaşkanı İlham Aliyev'in ev sahipliği yaptığı zirve toplantısına Cumhurbaşkanı Abdullah Gül'ün yanı sıra Kazakistan Cumhurbaşkanı Nursultan Nazarbayev, Kırgızistan Cumhurbaşkanı Kurmanbek Bakiyev ve Türkmenistan Devlet Başkanı Yardımcısı Hıdır Saparliyev katıldı.

Liderlerin zirvedeki konuşmalarının ardından, katılımcı devletler arasında ekonomik iş birliğinin kurumsallaşmasını öngören Türk Dili Konuşan Ülkeler İşbirliği Konseyi'nin kurulmasına dair Nahçıvan Anlaşması imzalandı.

Nahçıvan Anlaşması uyarınca, Türk Dili Konuşan Ülkeler Devlet Başkanları Konseyi, Türk Dili Konuşan Ülkeler Dışişleri Bakanları Konseyi, Kıdemli Memurlar Komitesi, Aksakallar Heyeti ve merkezi İstanbul'da bulunacak sekretaryadan oluşan düzenli bir danışma mekanizması oluşturulacak.

Unfotunately for you VP, the Turkish Government does not agree with you. They go to great lengths in attempting to market themselves as Europeans to the extent that a recent advertising campain in the UK promoting holidays in Turkey was laced with ancient Greek and Byzantine Christian imagery.

Also Istanbul is the European City of Culture (another Greek invention) in 2010

So they would be looking west for the foreseeable ...

Only a matter of time until they realize they are not European, nothing wrong with that..the "Europens" will keep chaging the goal posts and Turkey will come around to the idea that she will never become a member rather soon er thna later and then Turkey should work with Asian countries to build strength and union...the EU is not the be all and end all. There is a lot more to world than just the EU.

Where would the leave the GCs up the river without a paddle me thinks.

Well I deal in facts and you deal in speculation so I'll offer you my speculation in that it may be a matter of time before they start acting like Europeans, the recent relations with Armenia being a case in point.

Where in Asia is Turkey going to turn to; central Asia is sparlsey populated so there isn't much off a market there? Most of the highly populated countries in Asia can either undercut on labour costs or are highly developed economys like Japan or Korea. The only way Turkey can look is West if it wants to expand its markets.

It is their counter weapon if we can't get into the EU (which you won't) then we'll blackmail you and joing the east and become real terrorists.

  Man, they brighten my day with all this codswallop.
