Talat told reporters at the end of yesterday meeting with the Leader of the Greek Cypriots, that the revised paper submitted by the Greek Cypriot Side on the Executive is a step forward in eliminating the Turkish side’s concerns.

He also stated that the Greek Cypriot Side will accept the rotatory presidency, as put forward by the Turkish Cypriots side.

Talat once again reminded that the goal of negotiations is to provide the Cyprus problem with a bi-communal solution which will take political equality of the two sides as its major principle.

Talat said, once a good level of rapprochment is reached between the two sides on the Executive, then the solution of the Cyprus problem will gain a much more clear shape.

In response, Talat said: “We don’t have any objections to the election of presidency by the two peoples. But what we thought of is the difference in voters’ population of the two sides. We have 400 thousand voters on one hand, and 170 thousand on the other. We thought it would be difficult to establish agreement among all, under such circumstances. We wanted the federal senate to elect the President and the Vice-President because we perceived it to be the guarantee of political equality with its structure of formation. But if the public vote does not challenge the principle of political equality, we are not against that. We are rather concerned, with the way the Presidency- to be elected by the peoples-, ensures the security of the federal structure”.

Hmmm... they want to have 2x influence on the election of TC president, on the other hand they want us to have 1x influence on election of GC president... this is in violation of "political equality principle" that was accepted by their leaderships.

How about our Human rights you dont give a shit about them do you. Only thinking of yourselve again. Whats wrong with the people deciding.

You are talking about your human rights? to TCs who have been isolated for 35 years?

Well it's easy to resolve give back what Turkey Stole you can have your land back in the south then you wont be isolated anymore. Until you do that isolation wont be lifted. Its not hard to understand is it. Its quite simple.

Let us understand what you are asking me. You want me to give to you what Turkey stole from you so you can give to me what you have stolen from me including my land and my human rights?
Did I understand correctly? Since it is such an easy thing to do, stupid of me not to have done it in all these years.
Yeah, why not tomorrow, is that soon enough?

Yfred,

no one has stolen your land it is still there and you can claim it. Unlike any GC can in reverse. Please stop going on about it.

No one has stolen your human rights, they are in place and you can exercise them when ever you want, unlike a GC in reverse.

Your arguments are no longer water tight, it is your side that is preventing any forward movement.

In all honesty we should not even be negotiating with you without FIRST removal of the troops and settlers. Never mind full return of GCs to their rightful, legal properties.

You are wrong, you know it, I know, it, the whole world knows it.

You playing victim it now very tiresome and no one is listening to you now. Come next month when the UK high court rules against the orams you are going to have even bigger problems.

You know I'm right.

Have you tried claiming back land from the roc? Don't give me that bull shit about moving to the south for sixth month. Why do you think they put that one in. How many people from london will leave their jobs and move back to the south of cyprus. B25, pull the other one the middle one has bells on it mate.

Deniz, has been trying for 3 years to get his land back and a few other as well. The reason I have not applied so far is becasue I have to pay the taxes on 35 years even though I have had no access to it to. Guess what I aint givin one cent to the roc. You really need to understand better what a bastard of a government the roc is and the sooner it is burried the better.

Not in any way trying to be funny, here, I just want to understand. Don't you also get all the rent that has accrued in your name over 35 years with the Turkish Cypriot Properties Department? Also, I thought the 6 month residence rule did not apply to TCs who were permanently resident abroad at the time of the 1974 Turkish military intervention.

Rumour has it that they will pay the rent too. But it has been 3 years and there is no sign of money or the land, so it must be a multiple of 6 months applied so far 5 times. We'll see how long it takes.
The GCs must think we were born yesterday.
