You would have to leave your pet in quarantine for 6 months unless it had been micro-chipped, vaccinated and tested for immunity in advance. This takes 6 to seven months to set-up and cannot be done for young puppies (they have to be older than a certain number of months, sorry can't remember exact age). The pet is issued with a passport by the vet with seals and signatures. Then a final anti-worming treatment has to be administered 24-48 hours before departure towards Cyprus.

All in all, it costs hundreds of Euros to set up, and many months.

Thanks Oracle.

I am even more befuddled with people that are so F selfish that they would allow other perfectly good dogs to remain in shelters while they bring even more dogs into the country to satisfy their foolish fancies.

At least the OP isn't looking to being a St Bernard in.

Even sadder when you realise that they are effectively on death row. Some of the shelters here regularly practise euthanasia so that they have room for the endless stream of newcomers.

Within the EU you can move dogs around as much as you like providing they have all the right vaccinations and documents. This obviously doesn't apply to areas that due to illegal occupation are not under the control of an EU government.
