A very nice and unique song, Halil. I liked it. :D

Clip and song is part of our culture Insan .... it will be on all TV channels soon too .

İt is called Opecem seni ( I will kiss you).........It takes u back to old days ...back to 40-50 years ........

Very good, I remember those days very well when a girl would look at you and smile from a distance. Halil those were the days when so many hearts were broken.

Re Alfredo, the little girls grandmother mentioned in the clip(the one who brought in the coffee) is my (was) first cousin. I was 7 yrs old when her uncle (then 15) and me danced to the tune of 'Shinanay yavrum shinanay nay/'Ciftetelli Tourkiko'. I. Bozkurt is my b-in-l. I had not seen him in years.

Nice one Halil. Better than reading c&p.

here is the link for u to read somthing about him . Also u can have a chance to read Yusufçuklar Oldu mu?' (in Turkish).

Why do the characters in 'Yusufcuklar oldumu' speak in pefect Turkish? Not a single 'Kibris agzi' / Cypriot accent at all. Sounds very artificial.

Pls read above link .What Osman bey trying to say.Biz ne yaparsak hep gendimize yaparık bir çok şeyi abartarak .

Good morning Halil Bey.

How do you define culture?

Isnt Gibrislica part of Turkish Cypriot culture?

I have read the link. Those people have no idea about comedy, mizah, espri. Under the guise of Turkish nationalism they try to 'Turkify' every thing at the expense of our Cypriot culture.

Next time you write a sentence in Turkish and say,' I am sorry', I will remind you of it. Perhaps Ay am sori has become part of your CT language. Well that is a surprise.

Be Hali, cok ofkelenme; iyi degildir.

u see again u talk with assumptions. No one deny TC culture . we are proud of it .

TC culture is part of the many cultures Deniz Bey ,
it has parts from GC's ,British ,Turkish and new generation effected from all over the world. It is all in our hands if we want to keep our culture we can . It si not easy to destroy it as u think .People are going back on their wedding celebrations in these days by comparing few years or 30 years back . More Kina gecesi and more folk shows at weddings also almost every village has got its own folk groups . I can say in your days u never had folk groups in your village . Her şey emin ellerde !

Good morning Halil gardaş, ask Deniz has he ever attempted to establish a TC cultural centre like organization where he has been living? Ask him how much he cares abt keeping the TC culture alive when living abroad. I don't think he has ever moved his finger to attempt establishing a TC cultural centre or contributing it's establishment just a cingle penny. Ask him Halil, I don't talk with him. We r estranged with each other...

I am pleased to hear that there are some who wish to keep our culture, but there are some who do not.

In Kofunye we did have a Folklore dancing group. I also was a member.
My favourite was Tavas Zeybegi. Where exactly is Tavas. I looked evry day as a kid to find Tavas in Cyprus. Do you know what? I found Tavas in Turkey. Hence I am delighted to see that there is a revival of Turkish Cypriot dances in Cyprus. Thanks to TC, he has entertained us a lot with his clips of Turkish Cypriot dances. Lets hope they dont get banned.

Insan, behave yourself, very few TCs managed to break away from TC culture. The problem is that they are stuck in 60's TC culture.

You could have asked me direct Insan.

I was involved in Peckam Girls School in the late 1960's . TC families had asked for a Turkish Language teacher for the School. The curent one at the time could not cope and left half way through. Parents asked me and I joined the payrol. This was before the formation of the many TC groups and other 'Turkish Schools' which have flourished since. My contributions were well appreciated by my students and parents.

Later, my studies and work gave me little time for other work. By then, Teaching Turkish Language and Turkish culture had taken a more serious form with the backing of local councils and the The KibrisTurk Dernegi and the 'importation of better qualified teachers from Cyprus and or Turkey.

Next time you have a question ask me and dont be so bloody shy. Benim gucume hic bir sey gitmez.
