pit bulls

Postby TTBIKE » Tue Oct 13, 2009 5:12 pm

as to the last post they are not for people who have a mental age of 3 but sadly they attract them or people who want them as dick enlargements pit buls are very social dogs and if introduced to playing with other dogs are great family pets they are very easy to train a lot easy than the english bull terrier i know iv had 1 and my ex used to breed them i just hope these new pups go to the correct home. as for people who want the breed to end your very sad and dont know enough about the breed in america they cant ban them as the AMERICAN POLICE FORCE use them for all sorts of jobs from drug sniffing to protection. check what i say and people who are scared of pit bulls should listen to the owners or look on the internet to get the truth DOnot listen to anyone who uses them for drug minding or dog fighting

"Studies indicate that pit bull-type dogs were involved in approximately a third of human DBRF (i.e., dog bite related fatalities) reported during the 12-year period from 1981 through1992, and Rottweilers were responsible for about half of human DBRF reported during the 4 years from 1993 through 1996....[T]he data indicate that Rottweilers and pit bull-type dogs accounted for 67% of human DBRF in the United States between 1997 and 1998. It is extremely unlikely that they accounted for anywhere near 60% of dogs in the United States during that same period and, thus, there appears to be a breed-specific problem with fatalities." Its Me wrote:My wife is a canine behaviorist and she agrees with the last two posts, pit bulls although suffer from terribly bias reporting in the media { just as the great white shark} are in fact one of the most loyal and subservient and loving pets you could wish for, and it is the owners of the trained fighting dogs that are to blame. Alas small minded peoples attitudes and perceptions are much more difficult to change than the behavior of a dog.

Your wife may well be right but, the law says:

Prohibited: Dogs belonging to the following breeds: American pit bull or pit bull terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentina, Fila Bra-sileiro.

The photos look lovely, I am just stating that they are an illegal breed in Cyprus irresepective of how nice and cuddly they are.

I for one would rather be attacked by a cocker spaniel / collie than a pit bull if i were to be attacked at all.

problem with these powerfull dogs, it only takes once for them to do wrong and the consequences can be very serious.

So, nice dog, but ILLEGAL and you cannot sell them, breed them, bring them to Cyprus.

Even more so, you cannot guarantee the mindset of the potential buyers of these dogs.

Please give us your address so that we may report it to the appropriate authorities. No offence like.

Edit: i wonder where the forum would stand legally if someone was hurt by illegal dogs sold on this site?? Just curious like

I think for someone who lived enough years in Cyprus you should know that theres a lot of illegal activities going on and having a dog isn't quite the crime here. In my humble opinion a dog is a dog, like a human, if you raise it up to be a killer and fight, that's what it'll do. I don't think anybody is gonna come and fine you or something if you have a nice puppy at your home that loves people. It's a dog after all, whatever the breed.

Yes, lets all do drugs, prostitution and whatever else because this clown says its ok.

Just because it is not being enforced doesn't make it OK.

Perhaps you will get away with it until there is a problem and then you are fucked.

Jesus you get some F idiots on here.

i agree with half of what u say but think cyprus has other problems than pit buls for sale on this site have u ever walked past a pet store and seen monkeys well there not legal there is so much more going on over here i seen monkeys on sale on another cyprus site not this 1.. anyway time to screw the nut i do hope who ever is selling those dogs they do find good homes and they will be fine but i will say if someone does decide to have it as a protection dog do not ever let it mix with normal people as a pit bulis the most loyal dog of all but you have to know what your doing with them. once switched to a protection dog sadley they might see anything as a threat

Imagine if i really said something that bothered you what your reaction would be. Theres way more serious crimes to take care of first mate, having a dog is not really something that is top priority. Try not taking things to the limits...

Strange, because that was exactly what they were bred for ... to be aggressive; for example in dog fighting and bear baiting .. or you sure they are clever enough to distinguish between a toddler/baby and another dog?

It is morally wrong to breed dogs of any description when there are homeless dogs in shelters. Moreover ... it is reckless to breed this particular dog and as B25 points out it may even be illegal.

If you sell them to someone, you should make sure they are respected as potential killing machines (more so than the average dog) and should NEVER be left unsupervised.

Your attitude is, frankly a little worryingly, irresponsible ...

Please have them neutered.

She is after making money. Neutering is not on her agenda. The police would be interested in her phone number. I wonder if tax is paid on the sale?

I don't get it... So if these dogs are so dangerous/illegal/reckless to own, what is the recommended action by you people? Should we extinguish the lot of them never to be seen again? Trying to understand how some of you think...

If there are laws regarding dangerous dogs, and these fall into that category, then the law enforcers should step in. (and the tax-man)
