6 hours sleep ouch. Let me know if you need any info. I would be tempted to re-install the operating system if you haven't had a system refresh for sometime. If you do this make sure you back up your personal data ;)

Do you know why many people always end up reinstalling Windows when they have a tech problem they can't fix?

Because they don't really know how to fix Windows problems so they are quick to assume they've tried "everything"!

Precisely...

Why would an operating system re-install be required? Because Z4 is an idiot.

BTW I had a friend with a similar problem...

The Cyta router was configured for the TV service (even tho they'd never ordered it or used it) - it only had one IP address available. It worked fine until they added a second PC.

Is it a Cyta supplied router?

I reconfigured the router for them and it was fine.

i have connected two desktop PC`s to my router Speedtouch 585v6 now both pcs are running so slow and even freezing frequently. even if we unplug one of the pcs the problem is still occurring do i need a new or better router? have i broken it? . i have reset the router by pushing in the reset button on the back.
i have done a bandwith test the results were:

Download 1.96 mbps
Upload 0.15 mbps

Ping test result was:
line quality B+
Ping 46ms
Jitter 7ms
unable to test packet loss.

although i have done all these tests i don't even know what they mean in terms of good bad or indifferent.
could anyone give a bit of free advice before i go to the garden shed and find some rope to end my technophobia nightmare once and for all.

frustratingly

peter

I agree with the bloke on the other site that it is a good idea to check the IP addresses.

Simple test... If both PCs work perfectly individually then you know the problem isn't related to their disc or O/S installation.

Not really GR. I work for an I.T. company in the UK so I know what I am talking about. You don't know his machine and nor do I!

What is the famous IT Tech Help Desk saying "re-boot!"
