The Turkish Settlers are of course poor uneducated people and we have nothing personal against them. The crime is committed by the fascist Turkish state. Those people are citizens of Republic of Turkey, not of Republic of Cyprus. Turkey should be held responsible for the crime of transferring Turkish Settlers to Cyprus, and not only she should give back the properties to the GC owners and pay the owners compensation for the 35 years that they were not allowed to use their properties, but Turkey should also compensate the Turkish Settlers and ensure that they will be repatriated to Turkey and provided housing and everything else that they need there.

Dear Mr Parlaphone,

In your opinion are ALL TC's the descendants of the Ottoman settlers of 1571? Are you saying that todays TC's (NOT CT) are 100% Turkish extract?

No, that is not what I am saying at all. Turkish Settlers are not 100% Turkish extract either. Many of them are actually Kurds, and several of them have already mixed with TCs.

What I am talking about is about the attempt of Ankara to forcefully change the demographics in Cyprus. The Ottomans did this during their rule, but that was centuries ago. At that time things like slavery and colonization were the norm, and nobody knew anything about Human Rights.

But now is the 21st century, not the middle ages. Turkey has no right to continue to act in that medieval way bringing her settlers to Cyprus. In fact the Geneva Convention explicitly prohibits such action.

The settler problem is a crime committed by Turkey, and Turkey is responsible to fix this problem by giving back the properties to the GC refugees, compensating the GC refugees for the 35 years that they were not able to use their properties, and also repatriate her settlers to Turkey and compensate them for the troubles she caused to them by using them as pawns to her expansionistic policies.

I was referring, like you were to the settlers after 1571. Its about time you accept them as Cypriots now and stop referring to them as if they were aliens.

What have they ever done to (truly) integrate, be as ONE with the natives or even just simply treat Cyprus as a sovereign country?

Even most (all) emerging African nationals recognize the RoC but, hey, those "non-alien Turks" just don't seem to want to!

You have acted criminally against the Cypriots before and you continue to act criminally NOW with this continued colonisation WITHOUT any signs of a wish to integrate but merely to invade, occupy and claim as your OWN!

What did you suppose they should do Oracle?

Change their religion?

Change their language?

They did the rest - eg; they wore the Vraka/dizlik

What in your mind did you want a ruling class to do? Become Hellenic?

Please give a realistic answer.

Deniz, do you really expect Oracle to give a realistic answer? Does she even know what reality is? Dream on. I think I'm gona have to learn you some new fings.

It is a point often made, so let us address the issue. No harm done.

We even catch and eat the pulya/ambelobulya/blackcaps/ambelopoulia (even O doesnt do that).

I thought as much. Stop killing those birds and go to Waitrose like everybody else. At least waitrose birds are not killed they grow on trees.

Could be, you could even be a descendant of Julius Caesar. I knew a TC from Lourinjina (?) who spoke Greek so well that a GC friend of mine could not tell what he was. To me the saddest thing about this whole business is that many GCs and TCs share the same blood.

That is how a racist would think. Human Rights do not distinguish according to "bloodlines". The crime is against the Human NOT his blood-type! It is only the Turks who have racially, ethnically cleansed by thinking along those lines and such "excuses" should not be allowed to be perpetuated any longer...

All I know abt is that those video clips were uploaded by a GC youtube user nicked "menuria".

Our typical Kypraia visits shortly before the solution of the Cyprus problem the illegal Turkish settlers who live in her grandmother's house.

So far, we've known about Greek-Cypriots, Turkish-Cypriots, Armenian-Cypriots, Maronite-Cypriots and Latin-Cypriots. In this clip, however, we learn there is another community, Settler-Cypriots (so called Epoikokyprioi in Greek). Why didn't they teach us this in schools?

Tim, u may contact with him via his youtube channel.

Even sadder fact is that a distant cousin converted back christianity and joined Eoka.
