Dudu (from tutu)= parrot

No Deniz, Dudu is a girls name. I have a friend called Dudu. She is also from Anglisia. She lives over at Elefant and Cast
Where learned you your TC lingo did you say. Was it a hoca?

The dudu Kafenes asked means old Armenian lady.

Well, I figured it meant an old lady or similar but isn't it Turkish?

It is used in Turkish(old) but in TC dialect we only use it as a female name.

Thanks. I remember as a child all the old ladies had a dudu after their names.

In TC community, usually; African look alike females have this name. Dudu,in Turkis also means sister but not a sister that someone has a blood tie but an elderly lady.

So, let me get this right. Dudu means an old lady, a sister, a parrot and the name of an African lookalike girl.
So, if I had a sister who was an old lady and looked like an African and had a parrot I would call her 'dudurududurududurudu'? :)

And then followed by Dadadadaradadrada then you have the beginnings of a tune.

DUDU MANHENGA is a dynamic young Zimbabwean singer/songwriter who leads and fronts the group ‘Color Blu’.
Her style is influenced by great African and jazz singers, and the dignity of her delivery is a credit to her and to her country, wherever she goes. Her music has been accurately described as ‘an afro jazz adventure’

Most of the TCs who r named Dudu look like her.
:)

I am sorry about that. Have you tried lemon and honey? If that fails a shot or two of whisky or hadjipavlou brandy should help. Get better soon.
