Turkish Cypriot dialect under official attack

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Oracle » Fri Oct 09, 2009 10:41 pm

I understand your desperation as the last few remaining TCs struggle on with their unwanted habits and dialect ... let the TURKS do their WORST with you ... I Do NOT CARE ANY MORE!

You can all disappear off the face of Cyprus for all I care and then we know we only have the bloody foreign Turks to get rid of!

Easy peasy ....

All parties criticized the decision of the HBC to forbid the Turkish Cypriot dialect on the TV

Turkish Cypriot daily Kibris newspaper (09.10.09) reports that the political parties in the “assembly” discussed yesterday the announcement of the so-called Higher Broadcasting Council (HBC) which decided to forbid the use of the Turkish Cypriot dialect on the televisions. The chairmen of the Republican Turkish Party (CTP), Democratic Party (DP) and Communal Democracy Party (TDP), Ferdi Sabit Soyer, Serdar Denktas and Mehmet Cakici respectively criticized the decision.

Mr Soyer accused the National Unity Party (UBP) self-styled government of trying to rule by using oppression. “You are a government which dictates even how people will talk,” said Soyer. Mr Denktas addressing the UBP said that they will turn the Turkish Cypriots into “the only people in history” which is ashamed of the way it speaks. Mr Cakici noted that the decision is a policy of annihilating the Turkish Cypriot culture. The self-styled prime minister, Dervis Eroglu said that this decision might concern the TV speakers. He said he is proud of being a Cypriot and noted that he will never be ashamed of this. He said: “If you ask me this decision is wrong. In this country everybody speaks as he wishes.”

Oddly enough Eroglu too, reacted to the so-called bannishment of TC dialect... :?

Papandreou is in Istanbul Insan ............ Istiklal Caddesi full up with Greeks . We had good chat with them today . They likes Talat .

Also They said they made big mistake in 1963 and 1974 and they paid for it and Turkey must left to Cyprus they says . We had too many argument but friendly arguments .They learned lots of things which they never heard before . When i told them that in my village and around the my villages we were all TC's ... they got shocked .What they knows every house that we sit in it belongs to Greek Cypriots .Young generations thinks like that as i said above olderly ones knows what happened in 60's and 74 . I asked them why they never speak to their kids about it all . it was not suprise for me to blame the school but i said them still u have some share and part in it too .
