Now you are getting a taste of your own medicine. Seriously, ask yourselves who is your real enemy, Turkey or RoC???

Hesta Lavista TCs

A bit of ethnic cleansing hey. May roc rest in peace.

The Turks have done a pretty good job of clearing out the T/Cs. It's their speciality after all. Stick them in an enclave, "protect" them with 40,000 troops, over-run them with settlers, then ban their language. And hardly a word of protest.

Tottaly agree B25. Well said mate.

Tim, ur misinforming post made some very well known GC circles very happy.

See, how happy they r by getting some info abt how supposedly Turkey ethnically cleansed TCs in North, ban our dialect and oppressed us?

I am glad to see some enlightened Greek Cypriots voice their solidarity with those Turkish Cypriots who are fighting to preserve their identity. I appreciate that for the small number of Turanists in their midst, this is not an issue.

U r not still aware of that those who degenerate our beatiful TC dialect r the ones who should be condemned and banned from doing this through mass media.

I must of course bow to your superior knowledge and understanding. However, it is interesting that even Denktash junior, from his quoted statement, perceives this as being an attack on such basic TC dialect words as buraşta and oraşta. Perhaps he is also wallowing in this lack of awareness.

Yes. Everyone, including u misunderstood the oral statement of head of the Supreme Broadcasting Board... but to the contrary of u, some suggested the probable target of the statement. Think logically Tim, if they ban TC dialect being used by radio and TV stations, this means all TCs will be banned talking at any radio or TV channel. Is this man who made this statement that stupid?

I know what you mean. Also the way the sentence is phrased in Turkish, using the rather colloquial and imprecise 'diye', makes it open to more than one interpretation.

On the other hand, the new chairman of the Supreme Broadcasting Board, Osman Özalp, is from the UBP. So there is a UBP connection with all this.

Talat has made a comment about the Supreme Broadcasting Board's statement.

http://www.yeniduzen.com/detay.asp?a=12965&z=3

President Talat, evaluating the Supreme Broadcasting Board’s warning concerning the Cypriot dialect directed at radio and television stations, stressed that there may be educational broadcasts concerning the manner in which a language should be used, that it may be said that “this language, this dialect must be used” in news broadcasts and educational programmes but a ban is unacceptable.

There wasn't a bannishment attempt anyway... This was a recommendation to urge publishers and brodcasters avoid using degenerated form of TC dialect. Supreme Broadcasting Board can only ban/punish a programme with a court decision on legal ground if any laws r violated.

Wassat you say, Jimmy?

Let me start you off with a very useful phrase.
When you see a good looking guy you say to him:
"Canim benim” pronounced like Janim benim.
Particularly if he is a big hefty Turk and has long moustache and throws his coat over his shoulders like a rug.
